RE: Hack Forums News // Edition 479 - Hydra - Aug 4, 2020 ![]() Ledger Database Compromised In a July 29 post, Ledger announced that they had experienced a data breach. A relatively large portion of their database was accessed using an API key. The leak contained roughly 1 million email addresses. A further 9,500 customers' personal information was compromised. They should have received an email telling them so. This leaked personal data included customer addresses and phone numbers. Malicious actors can use these to attempt to gain access to exchange or wallet accounts. After they have access, they can then go ahead and steal the funds that each account contains. No payment information or passwords for Ledger were obtained. As a part of their response, Ledger is accelerating its penetration testing timeline. They have already performed internal penetration testing and will be beginning external testing ahead of schedule. It was initially set to take place in September of 2020. >>Source Crypto Markets on the Rise From July 20 to August 1, the cryptocurrency market shot up. The overall market capitalization grew from $272 billion to $350 billion. That's almost $80 billion of growth in about ten days, and as each day went on, it increased at a greater rate. Bitcoin rose in price from $9,150 to $11,930. The phenomenal growth that BTC encountered follows a golden cross. This is where the 50-day moving average will increase and cross over the 200-day moving average. The name golden cross comes from the cross-like image that is a result of the 50-day moving average exceeding the 200-day average. It is golden because it indicates a large amount of growth will follow, unlike a death cross. The price of Ethereum also rose by $70, peaking at just above $410. This occurred at a similar time to the coin's fifth birthday - July 30. Ethereum has seen a rise in popularity during the build-up to the Ethereum 2.0 release, as well as due to the boom in decentralized finance (DeFi). >>Source Twitter Scammers Arrested Several people who are allegedly responsible for the July 15 Twitter scam have been arrested. Many high-profile individuals' accounts were taken over by malicious actors, using internal tools obtained through a spear-phishing attack. Tweets then emerged from these compromised accounts, claiming that they would double the Bitcoin sent to an address. In reality, this was a lie, and the tweets were supposed to trick innocent people into sending their money to the scammers. All in all, they stole about 12.87 Bitcoin. At least two U.S. citizens and one British citizen have been arrested and are set to be charged for the attack. 19-year-old British citizen Mason Sheppard, also known by the alias Chaewon online, has been accused of being the mastermind of the operation. Graham Clark, a 17-year-old who went by the name Kirk, is being charged with 30 felonies and claimed to be a Twitter employee who had access to internal tools. Nima Fazeli, a 22-year-old from Florida, is being charged for computer intrusion. He went by the online alias Rolex, which he used when dealing with marketplaces. He helped Clark broker deals on online forums. >>Source Crunchyroll Removes 77 Sentai Filmworks Titles For those unaware of what HiDive is, it is a website run by the Sentai Filmworks multimedia entertainment company, involved in producing over 77 anime. That estimate comes from the 77 anime that will be removed from the Crunchyroll streaming platform. Due to Sentai not renewing their license with CR, 77 anime will be removed from the CR service. There is no public reason why they will be removed, but those looking into it believe that since Sentai is running their site, known as HiDive, with all of their licensed anime anyway, there is no reason to renew a contract with CR. The complete list of what anime will be removed from CR can be found here. >>Source Bleach: Brave Souls Game Gets PC Release This Summer KLab is notoriously known for creating gacha games. If you are not into money-grabbing iPhone games that require you to blow a ton of money to enjoy it, you will have no idea who this company is. However, if you are stuck in gacha game hell, then you will know them. Bleach's mobile game created by KLab will be getting a PC port, and the game will soon be available on Steam. The game features various languages to choose from and will be available everywhere but in China. Do you know what is weird about that, though? The game offers a Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese option, but it will not be released in mainland China. Interesting, right? In addition to language support, players will have a controller compatibility option! The game was released in Japan in 2015, then worldwide in 2016. It's a role-playing action game, and in 2017 it surpassed 50 million downloads. Support for multiple devices was listed in the description of the PC release; however, there is no information on what that entails. >>Source Splinter Cell Is Getting An Anime Adaptation On Netflix A huge surprise is coming out of nowhere surfaces, as new information is shared to the public that the video game series created by Ubisoft, Splinter Cell, will be getting an anime adaption. It's not a new thing where games are turned into an anime; however, it doesn't happen too often. Choosing Splinter Cell of all games is a weird one too. The last Splinter Cell game that was released was in 2013, so as mentioned before, it is a bit odd this series of all plays were chosen. However, we are not here to judge! Ubisoft will be partnering with Ubisoft with the help of the John Wick creator, Derek Kolstad, in charge of writing and being the head producer for the anime. At the moment, there is no indication of whether this will be an English anime or a Japanese one with Japanese vocals. The anime will feature two-seasons and 16 episodes in total. There is no indication of whether or not this will be released on any other platforms, but usually when Netflix is involved, of course, Netflix is the only place to find it. Another platform mentioned was that there is no indication that this is a "Netflix exclusive." There is no set release date, and there is also no information on what the anime will be about. >>Source The Day I Became a God Reveals Trailer Plus New Cast and Staff Info! Coming this fall 2020 season, the anime "The Day I Become a God" releases its first visual teaser, as well as a 3-minute preview. The video may be unavailable in certain countries. The cast members consist of:
The character designer for "Is The Order a Rabbit?" Nii Manabu has been hired and is in charge of, well, character design, as well as some of the animation. For those into behind the scenes things, this will be the third collaboration between Key Aniplex and P.A. Works. The other two collabs were Angel Beats and Charlotte. The anime will revolve around Hina who one day becomes an all-knowing Goddess, who wishes to spend the rest of her life with a boy named Youta. >>Source Ride Your Wave Anime Film's English Dub Clip Streamed Whether you like English dub or the original Japanese vocals (a debate for another time), those who prefer to enjoy English dubbed versions of anime will have the chance to watch the "Ride Your Wave" anime movie soon. All vocals aside, the official clip teasing the English dub was so crisp and clean to watch that you should check it out regardless of your taste. The dub will be released fairly soon, most likely by the time you read this article. The date is set for August 4. You will have the option to download the video digitally or physically on Blu-ray. Here is the list of the English dub cast members:
Taken from GKIDS (the company responsible for the dub,) they describe the anime: Quote:From visionary director Masaaki Yuasa (The Night is Short Walk On, Girl, DEVILMAN crybaby) comes a deeply emotional new film that applies his trademark visual ingenuity to a tale of romance, grief and self-discovery. The film was originally released in June 2019. It soon won the "Best Animation Film" award at the Shanghai International Film Festival soon after on June 23. >>Source - 1 - (Click to View)
