Replace is the wrong word. I believe it will continue to accompany it/be an alternative e-currency for a less crowded e-currency. This trend will continue with more e-currency solutions being developed with the growth of demand.

in btc-e is a matter of just studying the ups and downs and youll get good money i made 1.40 bitcoin from 0.40 it is a matter of being smart i looked at charts (forex) for about 4 months but now it is worth it because this site dont run your stops like the brokers in forex . With forex you will lose 500 in a matter of second's that is why the broker and the bank are together .That is why crypto coins where created ..

To redpois0n, don't purchase one or the other. Get a few good graphics cards so you can mine at 1-1.5GH/s on BTC on all cards until LTC gets a GPU miner. Then split it up half and half. When the difficulty raises on LTC, the price will climb due to the lack of people mining for it, and the increased demand from it being integrated in to MtGox.
