What is a Litecoin?
Litecoin is a peer-to-peer Internet currency that enables instant payments to anyone in the world. It differs from its parent Bitcoin in that can be efficiently mined with consumer-grade hardware. Litecoin provides faster confirmations (targeted at every 2.5 minutes on average) and uses memory-hard, scrypt-based mining to target the CPUs and GPUs most people already have. The Litecoin network is scheduled to produce four times as many currency units as Bitcoin.
One of the aims of Litecoin was to provide a mining algorithm that could run at the same time, on the same hardware used to mine bitcoins. With the rise of specialized ASICs for Bitcoin, Litecoin continues to satisify these goals. It is unlikely for FPGA or ASIC mining to take over Litecoin until the currency is widely used.
Do you think litecoins will replace bitcoins? Do you think they will increase in price (current price on btc-e.com)

Yep thats what i'm saying, People just hop on the bandwagon like that. 😏
Also here it is, LTC's wont go anywhere WHY? Because #1 there isn't an demand for it #2 There isn't an established underground market for it
#3 LTC cryptocurrency wasn't marketed to be useful, As an matter of fact it wasn't marketed for any use at all unlike BTC's. Only reason most people on HF are hyped about it is because they think the coins will be worth what BTC's are worth today which tbh i highly doubt... If that was the case then namecoins/PPC etc. would be included in that so called "investment" of theirs.
^ There you have it, The way i see it its like this BTC is the Paypal of cryptocurrencies, LTC's is just an alternative to those whom can't afford BTC's.
I've been dealing with them for awhile and watching the market carefully which leads me to believe they're nothing more than an pump & dump.

They will be a lot cheaper then bit coins as there will be a lot more of them in the market as anyone can buy them. They will never be as expensive as bit coins.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
I really doubt it. That sounds like a cheap rip off (which never succeed) and BTC is already very established. It's not about mining, it's not about unit volume either. It's just about how it all works together as a currency and usability, and widespread use is always extremely important when we're talking about a currency here...
It's like if you had a 1 worldwide currency... let's say USD... and then u came up with African Dollars and tried to make it #1... nones gonna use ur fucking African dollars when everyone in the worlds already using USD's.
crash baby crash till you get back to your old home that is less than $1
i dont think its gonna rise people just selling it , buying it , mining it
so load so of LTC SO BIG TRADES so less value for that
struggling near 3 come down baby you cant rise

IMO, yes they will go up for the simple fact that this form of currency represents stability and safety. Put your faith in fed notes and it's the bankers who will rob you blind ..stealing those hard earned dollars you worked for and calling it "inflation" when really they ought to be calling "devaluation" which is the hidden tax nobody sees happening.
..it's sad, but Ron paul was our last good shot at ending the fed and taking back our money from the hands of thieving bankers, and thanks to the lying mass media he was marginalized and cast aside .. what RP said was as true today as it ever was ..he said hyper-inflation is on the way because of the abuse of the beauracrats reckless spending habits ...the fed is printing money (at the behest of the gov) -and robbing americans of their hard-earned savings by devaluating the currency. This practice will slowly leave americans unable to compete in the world market (already a reality) and unable to pay their mortages
(again ..already happening), before long we will realize we have been sold out by our representives and have lost everything we once thought we owned. As Thomas Jefferson once put it; "..they will wake up one morning homeless in the land our forefathers conquered".
BTC, one the other hand, can never be devaluated this way and people know this subconsciously, which is why bitcoins will continue to go up in value and LTC as a derivative of BTC will rise just the same ..nobody can fuck with bitcoins and that is why it is the currency of choice among those who value their money.
I just saw the other day that Namecheap registrar is now accepting BTC ..it's catching on fast folks...
Go ahead ..invest in btc's or Ltc's, just be patient as it could take some time to come around and bound to have some ups and downs but in the long run you are going to realize a big return (I recall bitcoins trading for $7 a couple years ago and wish i had pushed in at that time..)

If Mtgox support it Litecoin can become a great currency like Bitcoin !

But what advantages, other than faster confirmation, does Litecoin offer when compared to Bitcoin? NONE. It just seems like an unnecessary cryptocurrency that won't take off. Also, keep in mind that there will be 4 times more Litecoins than Bitcoins when they are all mined, so the price won't go up as much as Bitcoin, if at all.
