Backtracing DDoS attacks?

no, you are retarded OP stop ddosing dumbass government sites. i doubt you have 100GBP/s worth of power
Make sure to use spoofed attacks (SSYN, SUDP, etc) on your servers and it's VERY unlikely for them to track it back to your servers, let alone your IP.

VPNs aren't perfect. If they're wiretapped or keep logs, it is 100% possible.

I suggest 2 VPNs, or a VPN and 1+ proxies.
Nice, how did you obtain the servers though?

I would launch the attack through chained cracked servers on a VPN. Don't do it on your own machine.
Logging the DDoS attack is obviously the first step.. This can be done with any decent Protocol analyzer (TCPdump, Wireshark).
Next parse the traffic log and filter it to a list of just the IP's...

nmap -sU161 -vv --script=snmp-netstat -Pn -n -oN Scan.txt -iL /tmp/list.txt

This will tell Nmap's NSE to authenticate to SNMP using public community strings and to run a Netstat (on the actual bots/servers themselves) and it will disclose what they are remotely connected to. This way you can find the ircd/httpd server they are using.
