Damn, was going to apply but then realized my warning level was back up. Anyways, good luck to all applicants, this was my second attempt and failed again haha! Will be sure to apply once my warning level goes down and I get to 100 prestige.

Age: 17 What, if any, wiki's have you worked on? At this time, I haven't worked on any Wiki's, but my experience in writing short stories for old forums and articles about gaming, emotions, life, and support for the common man can make up for this. I have worked on several small scale forum sites, some as the head writer, other as what they called a "learner". Why do you want to join the HF Wiki team? My love for writing struck me at the young age of eleven, my father, currently wrote and published his first book revolving around mixing and producing records. My inspiration sparkled and I had started on my own "novel". The short series I had started writing was completely fiction and really didn't have an overall plot or narration, rather just silly non-sensical writing to please the active imagination of a child. As I progressed further in my education I hit high school, or the dismantlement of my social life. Honors English was my main focus for freshman and sophomore years, I moved forward as a writer and learned much needed styles and transitions to make my writing flow at a professional level. The difficulty of it struck me during my Junior year just starting my first AP English course(Advanced Placement or college level). The teacher was one to embarrass students who "didn't belong" in her class, but highly complimented anyone who impressed her. Having such a love for writing, I hit her good side right away, unfortunately the meant I was expected more highly of. This pushed me as a writer and really gave me the direction I wanted to go. In all, I really have grown an attaching love for writing, how the emotions soar on every word the comes to mind, the love twinkles every second I stay writing. This is why I would like to join the wiki team. Sample Article: Hackforums, a site containing some of the most subliminal minds in the history of what we know today, is the one of the largest MyBB forums around the inter webs. Inside a variety of intelligence levels and personalities lurk about. The site was first launched on May 2nd, 2007, at the time no one knew the bright future held at this sites disposal. Starting as a small forum, high quality members brought this forum to light as friends start inviting others to join, the site is growing at a highly increasing rate. Today Hackforums holds over two hundred thousand members creating more than eight hundred thousand threads from topics ranging gaming to computer science to hacking to human manipulation to news and just the common discussion about life. All these people are brought together by one common love, their computers. The knowledge shared containing computer information around this site is outstanding. Sitting here today and looking back to the 1960's, none of this looked even possible, but here we have it. As a writer and enthusiast, I am excited for what the future holds.
What, if any, wiki's have you worked on? I have worked on the HF Wiki. I was part of the group before and wrote 3 or 4 articles. Due to inactivity I was kicked. That will not happen again should I be accepted. I have also worked on various wiki's for minecraft servers.
Why do you want to join the HF Wiki team? I would like to join the HF Wiki Team because I feel it will allow me to contribute to HF in a more positive way. It will allow me to gain more knowledge of the forum while helping others to do so too. I will also be able to improve my skills and understanding of the forum. My article is from the last thread. If this is a problem please PM me and I will write a new one. Code The hackforums deal dispute database was added towards the end of 2012, the idea behind it I also did an unrelated article to show my writing skills: Code There where many reasons why WWI broke out, in this short article I will explain some of the most well-known reasons and some of my personal opinions. If you would like to see my old application you can find it here: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...671&page=6 (Post #57)
What, if any, wiki's have you worked on?
My friend Darwin and I created a fan-made Naruto (Anime) wiki page and I wrote tons and tons of articles about characters, theories, attacks, weapons and more. In the wiki I provided links, images, videos, sources and had excellent grammar on the pages I worked on. Sadly it was taken down as my friend had to continue with college and wasn't able to pay for hosting, and I as well did not have time to work on it but now I am back and ready to work as much as I can. Why do you want to join the HF Wiki team? I love the Hackforums community, and I want to help members, new and old, gain information on features and topics relating to hackforums. I want to write things that will be seen by my community. I want to write things that will be acknowledged by my community, and mostly, I wanna write things that will help my community. That's why I want to join the HF Wiki team, I am always seeking ways to support HF and I know this is one of them, so I'm taking that chance and applying to join the Writ3rs to write new pages about new features, people and more. I will talk with the community which I admire, I will cooperate with them and think of new ideas for the Wiki as well as assist them with whatever they need. Example Article So I have created an example article, but I don't like to do the ordinary, just what every other member did. I like to do more than that so I made a Wiki page for it too and I will provide both below! Code Hackforums - GauthWiki Page: http://orochimaruwritersapp.wikia.com/wiki/Gauth Thank you for reading my application, hope I am considered and I promise you will not regret it! Normally I would be thinking, I can't apply, I don't have enough prestige, but sometimes you want something really badly, you may not be able to work for it in one area (prestige) so you push it as hard as you can in another (application). I am really hoping you can consider my prestige and understand I am a very hard worker, thanks! You can also find my previous application here, it is different than this one: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...id34126316
What, if any, wiki's have you worked on? I have not worked on any wiki's, but we all have to start somewhere...right?
Why do you want to join the HF Wiki team? I think it would help me in my inspiration to begin writing and bring out my creative side. I also look up to the Writ3rs and it would be an honor to take part of the group and share my (growing) talent to the rest of the forum through the wiki. Code The 'Gift' award is the most recent award added on June 25th, 2013, and has no significant meaning other than a gift from one person to another. It is currently the only award that you can buy for another member besides awards related to upgrades. If you do not want to buy it for someone else or have no one else to give it to;" You can buy it also for yourself just in case you don't have any friends." Omniscient says as he describes the award in the Help Documentshere. When you receive the award, the description will say "A gift from" followed by the member that bought you the award, or also "You bought yourself a gift." if you happened to pay for the award yourself. This award does not count as a donation award, so it will not stack up if you are trying to get $500 total for the Master Donator award. If you are feeling extra generous, you can buy a gift award for a variety of members, but each member may only have one of these awards each.
What, if any, wiki's have you worked on?
At this time I have not worked on any wiki sites, however my experience in writing surpasses many who may have worked on a wiki page. Why do you want to join the HF Wiki team? This goes back to my first month on Hackforums; I saw this group consistently posting high quality information and helping all types of members, but most importantly it consisted of writers. In order to learn about my passion for writing, we must learn about my past. My first spark of motivation came alive when I learned about science at a young age. This motivation pushed me to research further until I became intrigued with the writing styles and diction these scientists would use. Unlike most children at my age it seemed as if I was addicted to writing and learning more about the english language. At the age of five I was writing and creating my own imaginative stories as a form of entertainment. It started off as a simple hobby, but slowly evolved into a passionate love for the art of writing. To be honest, I would have given up if it wasn't for my dad's commitment to being an author. My father, at this point in time, is my biggest inspiration after writing three books revolving around his profession, music producing. Without him, my love could easily have been replaced by something not as meaningful. As we sweep back to the first months of my presence on this forum, I found myself creating goals for the future which provoked my activity on Hackforums. One of my most prioritized goals was in fact getting accepted into the group, Writ3rs. Slowly did I discover, this goal was going to take a lot of work. In the time period of 2012-2013 was when my writing really became one of my better attributes. I worked hard in my AP english course constantly asking for ways to better my writing, a lot of times I discovered myself waking up to my computer mouse in the early morning hours. The Hackforums wiki team I feel provides a place for me to enhance my writing even further. This will be a large stepping stone in my pursuit of becoming a great writer and I hope I can take advantage of this opportunity before I run out of time. To conclude, I have lived my life using goals and achievements in order to motivate and better myself, this is the main reason why I want to join Writ3rs. I know I can contribute fully and provide high quality articles which are written to the best of my ability. By doing this, my other goals will shed a positive light and I know they will be accomplished; for the one thing that my personality doesn't lack is determination. Example Article: Code Section: The Lounge(Sep 26, 2013 01:05 AM)iceybunneh Wrote: I don't usually critique the entries posted here because I usually only look at the ones that pass Viral's approval, but if you're going to say your experience in writing surpasses anything, please be sure to proof read your entry before posting. Thanks. I appreciate you catching one of my errors, thank you for the critique. I'll make sure to look over it a few more times.

Despite having no experience writing any wiki pages, this does not mean I am not familiar with the knowledge of the software that wiki uses. I have great punctuation and grammar skills, and whilst it may not be the best, it can be essential to writing articles for the HackForums wiki page. Why do you want to join the HF Wiki team? I'm hoping to put my literature and grammatical skills to better use when spending my time here on Hack Forums, to not only help out the website by writing interesting and brilliant articles, but to encourage other users to embrace the skill of punctuation and grammar. Code Paid Sticky's, would you pay for one?
What, if any, wiki's have you worked on? I haven't, unfortunately. But, I've been writing a lot of reports as well as essays.
Why do you want to join the HF Wiki team? I would love to join the HF Wiki team, to contribute to the forum. By contribute, I don't mean to give away stuff, but to give the whole Hackforums community a helping hand. I have always been fascinated of how much work the Wiki team as well as the News team put into their work. Example Article Written here in code. Code Website report(Sep 27, 2013 12:23 PM)iceybunneh Wrote: The Wiki Team and the News Team are two different divisions of the Writ3rs. What we're recruiting for has nothing to do with the News Team side. The Wiki Team has nothing to do with the HF News - that's all News Team side. I have found out. I misunderstood something, I guess, as I already knew there was a difference between the News team and the Wiki team, but by some reason mixed it all up. I've got the differences told by Viral, and edited my application so there should be no misunderstandings.
What, if any, wiki's have you worked on? I worked on several wikis before. Both for Minecraft servers and I got paid to do them. The money was included in the entire package for setting up the server, website, wiki and forums. I have been doing articles and other things for money in the past, as well. I used MediaWiki for these. If you use Wikia it won't be a problem to adjust. Here is an example of something I wrote well on the forums. It is the recruitment thread for Instinct on HC: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=3803080
Why do you want to join the HF Wiki team? I believe I can become a skilled writer in the HF Wiki team. I have a wide understanding of the English language and my spelling and grammar are quite good. I would represent the HF Writ3rs in and around HF in a positive manner. I will complete articles in due time and do above of what is expected of me. As well as benefiting the wiki I truly believe that I will be able to learn more about the English language and develop my skills in this. I mainly believe I would be fitting of this role because of four qualities I possess. I'm punctual, mature, knowledgeable and hardworking. Punctual As I have already mentioned, all tasks will be completed to the best of my ability and on time. I will try my best to do more articles than what is expected of me. I will be there for any group discussions and will get opinions from other members if necessary. I won't slack on my work and hand in any rubbish or uncompleted articles. If any meetings exist or any type of briefing I will be there on time. As they say, "to play the game you have to know how to play the game." Though if for some reason I cannot hand in my article by the due date (which will not happen commonly, if ever), I will give early notice to Viral. I will make sure the wiki and it's progress does not suffer due to my personal issues. Mature I will be able to face any problems maturely and sensibly. If there is ever any problem with me, I will fully cooperate. I will listen to anything that is told to me and act professionally throughout the wiki. For me maturity is not just age, maturity is how you cope with things, what you choose to do in different situations. I don't promise to be an angel and make the right decisions all the time, but I do promise to try my best in different situations. Knowledable Even though the wikis I have worked on previously are not the ones that require the most detail, I do know how to manage a wiki effectively. I can use my previous skills, both technology wise and language wise, to make my articles a success. I believe that quality is an important factor of an article because you could write thousands of words and only a 100 of those words are actually relevant thus I'll make sure every single thing I type is relevant and up to the optimum quality. To write a quality article, you need knowledge on it. Hardworking Don't expect me to slack on my work or hand in something half completed. Any articles or tasks given to me will be handed in to the best of my ability and potential. The most important thing is not always having a perfect article. Quality is extremely important, creating an article that the reader can read is extremely important, tying your best is also important. If I get accepted, there will be articles I may not have enough knowledge about but that does not mean I will hand in a rubbish article. I'll do my research and try my best and if it isn't enough I know I tried my best. The Instinct Recruitment thread is an example of something I have wrote in a formal context. Usually, a majority of my posts on HF are written on my mobile phone. That is why most of my threads are in note format and informal. My posts are much more formal though, as I'm stating an opinion. Really it matters on how many people will see it and who I'm talking to and what about, that determines how I write. I really improved my writing skills and understanding of the English language over the past few years. If you were to look on Steam Profiles or a game I am no longer active on for the past few years, I'd be quite embarrassed. My understanding the English language was not enough; I did not have many grammatical errors or spelling mistakes but my context was informal and my language was weak. I believe my use of language is definitely improving. However, I'd like to take this chance to improve my understanding of the English language even further by grasping this opportunity with both hands. This is a recruitment I have waited for. This is one of the only groups I'd apply to because I truly believe it's one of the only groups where I can give my knowledge, and take knowledge as well. For me, a group isn't just an application then a userbar. It's a commitment, a promise, to fulfil the requirements and do my part. My article is on the HC's Market and Economy Code The HackerCraft economy is also referred to as 'EM' which stands for eco money. There are various things you can do with EM, however, there are only two ways to get it; firstly, you could purchase it from the HackerCraft Store or you could gain EM by selling items in the market. The economy is managed using the economy system inside Essentials. NOTE: I realise how you might think some words are spelt wrong such as "realise", it's a correct spelling and I spell it with an 's' because I'm British.
(Application) What, if any, wiki's have you worked on? I've never truly and honestly worked on any Wiki's however I am looking to learn. I believe learning is the equivalent to teaching because both learn something from each other. I've seen enough of "The Writers" around the forum to know the job and duties, I also read this thread 100% crystal clear. Why do you want to join the HF Wiki team? I wish to join to learn more, I type a big game, I use proper grammar but at the end of the day it won't be enough. Joining "The Writers" will give me the opportunity to expand my abilities by learning of the other members and publishing work which will obtain genuine feedback. But look, I can sit here all day and tell you how "Great" I am, or how wonderful of an article types I am but actions speak louder than words correct? (Short Article) The current whispers and conversations around the forum probably revolve around the group "Innovation" and they're sudden need for a "Gaming Leader" many believe that this is because they're previous leader either left, got fired, or quit. But the real Mystery here is... Since when did Innovation have a Gaming Section? Many of us are wondering this, they opened up a "Leader Recruitment Thread" on (12-02-2013, 04:15 AM) there currently seems to be no ending date to it. From my view not too many users have applied for this role, But as for the users who have; how sure are they that they can fulfill this role? |
