And how would exactly a new member just happening to match another member's IP? Assuming the Trust Scan doesn't fuck up, it seems very unlikely, yes i know it can happen, but for that many times to happen for you to make this thread i call multi for most of them.
I already saw my fair share of multi's being closed in minutes in the lounge, not saying all are, but this thread doesn't make sense for NEW members if it's really that common to warrant a thread.

You can't for 100% sure, mobile ISP's-only don't exist, at least in my country they don't, so, you can't be sure, of course there are db's and stuff to potentially check which IP range some carriers are using right now, but for a site has members from all over the world it'd be unreliable and not needed for non-staff, because it would need manual check, and even that might not be 100% accurate.

The new user could have logged in from a public hotspot, a proxy, a cellular network, etc. There's just too many possibilities to assume things.
I don't middleman any deals on- or off-site. Please don't message me requesting my past services and certainly don't fall for anybody who claims to be me.

And just right away match the latest IP of an HF member? Yes this site has large userbase, but it's fishy at best.
Theres regulations like this in the site!? Thats pretty cool.

Trust Scan should be a feature users use themselves, and not spam all over the forum.
Members can expect a negative reputation and / or a warning for messaging staff about a number the trust scan produces alone. Most cases these numbers come up because they're connected to a cellular network or are connected to their college / university.
Yeah it's pretty fucking annoying. I'm surprised no one has said that about me lmao. While I'm at my friends it shows my IP matches another members because he has an account as well

Because no one cares about your trust scan unless you're a new member.

Yeah I get that. Sucks seeing a bunch of posts everywhere with trust scan results. Completely off-topic really, and I assume should be reported as such?

If they are posting on your thread about your dog and only saying "OP is a multi cause he has 2 members matching his IP" then you can report it as off topic. Same if they are replying to you.

Off-topic posts should be reported using the Unrelated or off-topic post option.
I think Trust Scan should be on L33T also as it sucks you cant check anything apart from if he has any open disputes. It should not be "You must pay $25 so can see if anything is fishy with this person"
UB3R gives you so much more then L33T so why not allow L33T to be safe when doing a deal?

I remember there's a deal dispute case whereby the user was scammed twice by the same scammer, when he was scammed the second time, he do some research on the scammer, apparently the scammer have a previous account/something, the user was like omg I got scammed twice by the same scammer.
What about those scammers that apparently open new account and dont want to use their old accounts becoz the old accounts got deal disputes? Going to give them second chance to scam again or is it better off they settle previous deal disputes first?
As much as I agree with you OP, there's nothing we can do about it other than to not misuse the feature ourselves and to disregard the LQPs you're talking about. It's still one of the "newer" features on the site. Whenever a new feature is implemented, especially one that requires you to be upgraded to use, people feel entitled use it to boost their ego. Trust Scan is a luxury feature imo, nothing else. As members, basing opinions solely on TS, we have NO proof whatsoever to accuse anyone of being a multi based on the number of matching IPs. If you've ever browsed HF via mobile, it's more than likely your IP will match SOMETHING as you are on a PUBLIC network. It's just another way some people feel they can flash their e-peen around. It's bound to happen.
I'm not sure where that quote from Omni came from, but I didn't see it in the Help Docs unless I'm blind. It might be helpful to add a Trust Scan Policy/Notice/Disclaimer or something to the Help Docs so people can understand exactly how the feature is supposed to be used. At the end of the day I think the feature should remain as is and only be available to Ub3r members.
