Whether it is urgent or not, one never knows. It's better to take the dog to the vet to examine the wound. the wound could be infected because you never know what bacteria the other dog may have. To start, the wound should be cleaned with 10% iodine and 3% hydrogen peroxide. Perhaps afterward, some antibiotic ointment should be applied. Just in case, the dog should be taken to the vet to examine the wound. Your dog is like this now because he's scared, maybe some anti stress drops should be given as well.
Been a little bit since this all went down. Give the people of HF an update on your doggo Eran

I never posted an update on this matter.
Regarding my dog - now he's absolutely fine. Actually he's been fine just a few days after the surgery. Yes, he ended up needing surgery, and it was worse than I anticipated. They had to cut out a fairly big part of his neck, picture below.
He took 4 different medications for about 10 days after the surgery and it took 3 months for his hair to fully grow back. I thought he was going to behave differently towards other dogs after the surgery, in terms of being afraid of other dogs, but no - he's still the same old goofy happy doggo. 100% back to normal, like it never happened :D
A side story to this - all of this happened while I needed to find another apartment to live, and because I live in a city where most landlords let you stay only outside the summer season (so no staying during June,July,August and half of September), it was very difficult for me to find a place to live. This all took toll on my mental health and dealing with the surgery, eviction and losing my job all in the same week, my stress was at an all time high. However, the dog situation actually solved my apartment problem! I was desperate, so I continued posting in apartment hunting facebook groups that I am looking for an apartment, only this time I attached pictures of my dog from the surgery and added a sappy sad text (which was true, I didn't exaggerate) hoping there are still decent people out there who would offer me an affordable apartment to rent throughout the whole year. 2 days after the post, an old coworker called me and told me that a friend of his saw my post, and called him to check if I was a good guy. I ended up getting a 2 bedroom apartment with a huge garden for my dog, for the same price I was paying a small old studio apartment!
This was a very valuable lesson to me - that sometimes life will give you blessings in disguise! It also bonded me a lot more with my dog! <3

Glad to see you provide an update on here finally and more importantly that all has been well with your doggo. I know a lot of us were worried for you/him and were hoping for the best. Sounds like everything in fact did just that and even more so in the sense of your living situation. Before I even finished reading the whole thing, I too was like, oh damn so this was kind of a blessing in disguise situation. Then of course I saw you said the same at the end haha. Not that we'd ever want something bad happening to your dog in the first place, but who knows, maybe it really did play a part in you ending up where you are now. Your dog is doing perfectly fine too and so that's what matters most. Anyway, thanks for an update after all of this time and again, glad to see everything turned out well for you both 🙂👍
Poor doggie :( I'm glad he's getting better!
