What about 48 hour and 7 day xbox live gold codes? I'd presume these are allowed since these are trial codes.

Quick question. What about methods to get xbox live codes. There are always promos like doritos, mars cAndy, mhf, etc. are these methods allowed to be shared as long as they dont break any other rules? Because honestly i love hf for finding new methods to get xbox trial codes.

You've allowed Xbox LIVE to be sold after the banishment of Xbox LIVE currencies and points for so long, so what has changed now? I know Microsoft's CEO or w.e hasn't contacted you requesting this to be done, so why the change of heart?

I think that the rules are fair. Maybe ban console ID's as well if you're going to ban KV's.

Console ID is the same thing as KV but for Playstation 3 systems.

I understand codes aren't able to be sold, but what about the method of obtaining free LIVE? Usually the free LIVE is a promotion from Microsoft. From what I understand, this doesn't contain any BHA, but does require the input of a credit card to be used in order for the membership to work.

The promotional 1 month's that are directly through Microsoft @ xbox.com require a payment option. The 48 hour trials and 14 day trials are obviously different (considered prepaid codes by Microsoft) than promotional memberships offered on xbox.com.

EDIT @walter's deleted comment that stated the memberships don't require a credit card.

I can see why you would put this in, due to people SEing consoles and selling them, as "barely used"

JTAG, RGH Mod (Jailbroken consoles) = Allowed
This is pretty nice for members who are into modding, though I am not really interested in Modding and such, so not that big for me.

KV (Key Vaults) = Not allowed

I don't know what KV's are(not a modder), so I wont give feedback.

XBL Gold (Live Codes) = Not allowed

This is something I don't really support, but I can see why, due to people using fraud to get them sometimes.

XBL Points/MS Points/MS Currency/Xbox Currency (gift cards) = Not allowed

Eh, I am kinda on the edge for this one, I don't really use MSP, but I need them whenever I want to buy MP's, avatar stuff, and other items, since you can usually get them cheaper on forums like this, but I also see the other side, people could card them and use other types of fraud.

The problem with membership codes are there are different varieties. You have the 1 month - 12 month. Then you have the 48 hour and 7 day codes. The latter are not social engineered. They could be generated through means similar to a thread I did a while ago with regards to Skittles.
