I definitely prefer a custom login, I don't like having my accounts linked to each other, be it Google or any other social media.
As a second option I guess it's fine.

I'm not sure why you're asking this to existing members, they wouldn't be the ones using this anyway.
For new members, I'm very confident Social Media logins are widely preferred. I, for example, have a specific Google Account just for all kinds of online accounts so I don't have to go through the sign-in process.
Having this option would undoubtedly help with new account signups on the forum.
Even when I just use the Social Media signup as a sort of "throwaway"signup, I'm still logged into the website and I actually end up using the website every now and then.
Whereas websites that don't offer it, when I don't feel like making an account, I just never join to begin with.
Using a social media login ?
Nah!
No!
Never!
No Way!
I gonna make you an offer you can't refuse.
I like how it is now. If social media login is added, make it as alternative/secondary option and not forced-option.
Some people, do not use social medias.
Social media is definitely a great way to attract new members, though I think HF should always keep custom login available for obvious reasons.
Hell nah I say. And looks like most of the voters are on my side as well.
In the sense of new members; they would probably prefer the social media login since it allows for people to make new accounts with ease (instead of having to verify their email, etc.).
In the sense of current members; custom login since it helps out with speeding things up.
This may skew the results of the poll, but I think it honestly depends on who you want to target to join the forum. Social will probably bring in a flux of new members since it easier to register, but it may also present other issues where people can quickly create such accounts by using throwaway emails on social media websites. Custom logins might make a ton of sense, assuming that people who have already registered would be able to use such feature easily and it isn't specific to a setting that gets created when new members register and complete the sign-up process.
If HF converted our Login to use social media like Google and Facebook would you use it?
No.
Do you prefer websites use a custom login or your social media login?
Sometimes yes.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER

I added this to my website awhile ago. Not everyone will use it.. but some surely will.
Google/FB/Twitter login.
SneakyBoots Discord or HF convo me.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
how you solve this for new members is to give them a discord login option as no one really wants social media attached to HF. and id predict with all the threads with discords posted in them it would be the most used option here.
It could be easier for new members to sign up with a single click, which could help to grow up the community, but the domain "HACK"forums.net and an option to sign up with social media could make new members think they are going to get "hacked" or something like that.

Not nearly enough. Cheap bastards.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
I never would due to safety concerns regarding social media data, and the nature of the site I'm visiting. For security purposes no.

I would find it difficult to login using SOME .... mostly because I don´t use any, at all! I still consider Mr. Z. and his merry band of collaborators, to be one of the biggest threats to privacy and data protection laws- but in an orderly, well mannered fashion, of course :)
So, no, I would never do that.
EDIT: Typo!
