First of all, please don't leech my tutorials. I work very hard to put them together and takes me months worth of thinking, plus years worth of experience to add my personal inputs as well.
I am currently sick at the hospital and I decided to write this tutorial that I have been meaning to write for a good 2 months ago, but due to time constraints I was unable to do so.
I had to write the whole tutorial on a piece of paper before I could go ahead and type it out since I don't have access to my computer. I apologize if I make spelling mistakes since I am typing this extremely fast before I am spotted by one of the hospital staff.
Anyway, this is tutorial is going to focus on various factors related with a cellphone.

Let's jump right into it.
1) History behind (famous case and history)
Most popular known, Phreaking is the term normally associated with reconfiguring or modifying the hardware or software of electronics, including cellphones.
Phreaking is a slang term coined to describe the activity of a subculture of people who study, experiment with, or explore telecommunication systems, such as equipment and systems connected to public telephone networks. As telephone networks have become computerized, phreaking has become closely linked with computer hacking. I couldn't possibly begin writing this tutorial without mentioning the most famous Hacker that the world has ever known, Kevin Mitnick.
Kevin Mitnick was chased by the United States FBI for many crimes related to hacking and phreaking. He is a master at hacking in various sectors related with networking, programming, phreaking, and many other topics that I probably don't know.
For one, he is the one that sprung out many future generation hackers by inspiring them with the idea of a hacker.
I can't possibly say everything that he has done or knows, but you should definitely look into his work to learn for more detailed information.
You should watch those parts of videos if you want to learn more about him. I would highly recommend it, if you are one of those persons who is thirsty for knowledge.
To make a story short, he was very good at modifying electronics and software. The FBI caught on to his modifications and setup a trap to catch him by providing the latest technology at the time.
Kevin Mitnick noticed that things didn't look right, and he found out who the person under cover was by hacking directly into the agents cellphone and deciphering that the majority of his phone calls were coming from FBI offices.
Just watch the videos if you want to learn the whole story and he also mentions how to decipher private calls, the hacker way.
Another person that definitely deserves to be mentioned is Steve Wozniak (Apple Co-Founder).
He is known for starting the Apple corporation with Steve Jobs, not only that but he loved "jokes".
On his spare time, he would play around with electronics such as cellphones. He was able to figure out how AT&T's wavelength Hertz using a whistle from a box of cereal to make free International or national phone calls for free.

I'm going to go into details on either of the 2 persons, but you should do more research if you are interested.
2) What you need to know
Now, let's get to the actual tutorial.
What do you need to know? First of all, you have to think of these things.
1) Why am I doing it?
2) Who am I acting as?
3) Who am I targetting?
4) What is my plan?
5) What is the purpose?
If you are going to get involved with spoofing anything, it's usually because you are hiding from exposing the real information that you withhold.
Considering that it's cellphone related, you can only do SMS (Text messages), SMMS (Sending images), Phone calls and the other typical features on every cellphone.
1) Why am I doing this?
You need to have a particular reason for spoofing your information.
2) Who am I acting as?
Spoofing is popular with phone scams by acting out as a wrong party to target any potential victim.
You need to choose a character before hand.
3) Who am I targeting?
You need to know exactly who you are targeting because you could stumble across problems. It's best to know what they know.
4) What is my plan?
You need to know precisely what you want to get out out of your spooofing.
5) What is the purpose?
You need to know what you are getting or what kind of results you wish to acquire.

Now, you need to know Social Engineering for Spoofing related matters simply because that's how the world works.
You can't simply call someone and say "I am the police" no one will believe you, unless if you do your acting part.
ALWAYS use the internet to acquire knowledge.
For example, if you want spoof your phone call as the Police, search your local police office and get their phone number off their websites.
You need information, a plan, execution, and results.
If you don't have information, use these websites to dig information out of anyone. Such as phone number, address, names, etc...

Having this basic kind of knowledge can take you a long way.
3) SMS Spoofing (Text messages)
Now, let's jump into the first form of spoofing that there is.
I learned much regarding SMS spoofing when I was younger simply because I could not afford to pay for additional services on my cellphone.
I did lots of research on how to send SMS (Text messages) for free and from anywhere.
I'll cover a few of them that will suffice your mind.
1) Messengers
2) Websites
3) E-mails
1) Messengers
I began using Yahoo messenger to chat with some old friends of mine, and I happened to continuously get disconnected by a slow wireless internet connection. Out of curiosity thinking that I could figure out the problem, I played around with the tabs on the program and I noticed that it has the feature of sending SMS to any cellphone for free.

I know for a fact that MSN also has the feature and does any of the other famous messengers such as Skype. Just play around with the tabs and you will find it.
Once you find it, you simply write the phone number of the person that you are targetting and send it through.
I know it works because I used it for practically for a couple of years.
Now, you may ask yourself how is that spoofing?
Let me tell you this, on this forum HackForums.net you will see many kids who go around posting their MSN addresses as "whatever.gov.fbi"
They are using fake extensions at the end of their names to act as if they are of importance.
That's also what you have to do to make your name as "[email protected]"
Once you have a fake name and a fake extension, all you have to log is log in on that user name and begin sending spoofed SMS to whoever you want.

Use that link to create your fake e-mail, but note that account can only be used for messenger only such as MSN or Yahoo, Pidgin, Trillian, etc...
It cannot be verified or used to interchange e-mails.
2) Websites
Now, I ran into this as I was doing research on acquiring the ability to send SMS for free.
I compiled a list of websites that allow you to send SMS as whoever you want to put your self out to be.

Now, I know that it's only 2 but I know for a fact that they worked. I went through literally dozens of useless websites.
It's pretty self explanatory as to how they work once you visit them.
3) E-mails
Now, this one requires a bit more of work since you have to do research on how to send SMS via E-mails.
If you are not already familiar with this information, what you should do is go to Google.com and search a phrase like this:
"Your cellphone company text messages on e-mail"
For example,
"BlueMobile text messages on e-mail"
It should bring you up on their website and they will explain more in details. If you don't find it, use a different type of phrase until you find it.
It will usually be for example: [email protected]
Use Google to find exactly how to do it since it's different for each company.
