Well i would like to start this review off by saying that if your interested in death,the supernatural, or need some action then this anime will suit you. This anime can be spoiled very easily i think personally.

The story starts off kinda slow but progresses through after a few episodes. The main character Ouri Kagami is a adopted child i guess you can say and is taken in along with more children by a contracted monk named Keisei Tagami. In this anime the protagonist is called a shikabane hime, They stay by the contracted monks side in till they have earned there way into heaven. In order for them to do that they must kill 108 shikabanes which is the antagonist of the story. When someone dies they are aloud to choose from being a shikabane hime or a shikabane. A shikabane is a spirit that comes back from the dead to fulfill what they have missed as a human with a evil compassion. Pretty much thats all i can explain in details without spoiling it.

My rating would be a 9.0/10, I could not drop this from the very start. The art work was done superb and was actually surprised at how the english dubs actually fit the characters well. The only thing i could say bad about this is that the ending is a disappointment.

Most of the time i find the anime on netflix and look for the japanese one with subs :p most of the english dubs suck but this one is decent, Or i look for the newest anime that comes out =/

I absolutely LOVED Shikabane Hime: Aka and Shikabane Hime: Kuro (I think that's what it was).
I just wish that he would've contracted with the chick that used her fists.
She was so badass.

I agree, Minai was one bad ass shikabane hime :P. I loved the season 2 fighting scenes quite a lot. And yes you were correct on the titles.

Spoiler (Click to View) In the end Makina and Ouri fight death itself which is known as Hokuto and they realize that death cannot be killed. During the fight the traitor monk breaks the bond between every single shikabane hime and tells the truth that really killing 108 shikabane doesn't get them into heaven and really turns them into a shikabane itself. As the bond was broken the shikabane hime got weak and was about to betray there monks but there WILL kept there bonds together when it really wasn't. The rest is hard to explain. Maybe Watching the ending part could refresh your mind :P.
