I don't expect a staff to change the rules at all. I am expressing my ideas. Maybe if people see this they will take into consideration. If everyone does this the thread won't die, there will just be less pointless posts. Maybe on a giveaway I would like to see some actual feedback instead of looking through 20 pages of, I PM'ED YOU CAN I HAVE THIS NOW! to find one actual real feedback.
The high quality threads will stay alive, and the one's that aren't high quality will die away.

There are two reason of doing so.

The first reason, is that OP want to keep his thread alive. Believe me, I already tried to put directly a download link, everyone downloads, and don't even take the time to say thanks on the thread.

The second reason people may use this, it's like a way to "remind" people to give them positive reputation.

Well, I don't support the second reason, but I understand people doing that for the first reason.

It helps to stop the leechers. Most people would just download directly from the first post but if you ask for post, then PM, you have people who are actually participating and saying thanks. In simple terms, it keeps leechers away. Although it is a simple task, none of them want to take the time to do it if they're only here for one or two things.

I understand that it causes your thread to die, but what does it die to? Other threads with people saying post here then pm. So if that was eliminated completely the HQ threads would prosper and the LQ threads would die. Understand my logic?

I personally hate when people do this. I don't see why the OP doesn't just post the information he would send in the PM in the thread. It just wastes my time having to post, then having to PM, then having to wait, when I could just see the information right away.
