Warning Level Changes

(Aug 11, 2011 12:57 PM)Behind Enemy Lines Wrote:  Not harsh enough IMHO, go for 3 days post suspension and limited for over a month. When you're trying to be strict you really got to be strict.

I think they're reasonable as they are now. It would be unfair on new members that still need to adequately familiarize themselves with the rules if the consequences of violating them were too harsh.

This is a great idea, I like staff which enforce there rules.

That's what I was thinking but it's better to know than to not know at all.
Quote:, It's not really related to this post, But, If somebody has 50%+ warning level and they're not banned how do we report that?

Their ban might have expired but their warning points did not. Example is LQP which is a 25% warning. It doesn't expire for a month. You could get 50% and be post suspended for a day. Then a week later get another and be placed into Limited because of 75% warning. Now 4 days later you're released from Limited but you still have 75% warning. One more LQP warning (or any warning at all really) and you're back into Limited and if you hit 100% you're Exiled for 2 weeks.

Might have to place that in Help Docs so people understand fully how it works.

Quote:What about the currently limited users? Say for example those permanently limited or limited for months?

Changes don't effect them except those in Limited group. They suddenly can't post. But they're original unban time is the same.

Quote:With the 24hr suspension be manually handed by Admins/Staff or will it be an automatic thing.

It's automatic with MyBB warning system. I warn and if you hit a warning level X actions take place.

Theres a reason we have a bunch of people posting at welcomes saying read helpdocs here. If they don't take the time reading the rules, they should be banned/limited.
Okay thank you for answering our questions. Best of luck with the new rules.
I know most people will like these changes but it kind of scares me as I know I'm not the highest quality user.
Anyone know what the Exiled group is? Banned or something?

So basically lets say you get 50% and your 1 week post suspension is over but you still have 50%, you can continue to post?

I would think something like the Dead group, it only sounds right like that. Or maybe it's a new group.
Not dead, I don't think he would go a far as perma killing an account for some warnings.

I suppose it would be limbo between a limit and a ban.
Thanks for the new rules omni!
Should keep the Low Quality posters away!
Also the 50 charcters minumum is a good idea!
Hmm maybe you can add an auto rep-fuck script that rep fuck you after reaching more than 75% so like that people will be scared more.

I got one question. Is this temporary or what? But I 100% agree with the stuff so far you have been doing..

I completely disagree. Advising new members to read the Help Documents does not make reading them mandatory. Also, retaining the information contained in the Help Documents and the rules contained in separate forums takes time.

I'm all for high quality, but not at the expense of risking loss of new member activity.
