[.NET] .NET Runner - Visual Basic Game [VIDEO] [*UPDATED* - DOWNLOAD LINK NOW]

.NET Runner

ADDED ONE LEVEL, AND A DOWNLOAD LINK TO TEST IT. THE CODE IS STILL UGLY, SO I DON'T RELEASE THE SOURCE NOW, BUT I DIDN'T OBFUSCATE IT. THE GAME IS PRETTY HARD ATM, TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK :P

Download link removed.

Well, it has been a long time I didn't released something. I come today with a new little game, still in developpment, called .NET Runner.

For those who have an iPhone or an Android Phone, it's a remake of Line Runner game. The code can't be uglier at the moment, because I still don't know how to draw cubes randomly, so i'm using picturebox.

If someone could help me with that point, it would be nice. The game will be level-based, you'll need to pass it as fast as possible.
If you have any questions, ideas, suggestions, please leave a comment.

Have a nice day :).

Not bad not bad, so you will selling the source or make it public ?
I would be very interested, the design should be better but nice.

Keep it up bro :)
Of course I'll release the source, it has no sense otherwise. Thanks for the feedback, I'll add sprites later for the design :).
Added a download link, with 2 levels to test it.

I like it! Are the levels randomly generated?
Unfortunately, No.. I don't have the experience to create random location for my picturebox's, that's with my code is fucking ugly atm, and why I made it level-based. If someone could help me to do that, I would love him :/..

Hm I can do this in Java if you PM me the source I'll try and implement it for you?
Is this going to be open-source? If so could I get a vouch copy, looks great. Been looking for a game base like this.
Is there anyway to go 3D in .NET? Would be sexy.
What I would really need, is an improvement of my code, I didn't do it on the best way. But yeah, I'll give you the source tomorrow, I'm on my phone atm.
@Calculator : Of course this is going to be Open-source, just wait a moment, I'm trying to optimize the code.

Yeah you can use a game engine such as XNA.
"Level generating" would actually be pretty easy, just need to do a lot of simple math.
I would need to generate blocs only ON the ground, and some others a bit higher, keeping every time the right distance between each picturebox, to make it "jumpable"... Is that easy as fuck >< ?

Yes, just simple math and Randoms. You could easily pull it off with some experimenting.
Yes lots of simple math like:

If YouWin = True Then
Level=Level + 1
End If

'Then a code for checking the Level Variable like:

If Level = 2 Then
'Display level 3
End If

As far as generating random locations use the System.Random and System.Drawing.Point namespaces.

Not only.

I will do an example in GDI.
That will most likely work but why not just have a predetermined ammout of Picturebox object already on the form.

So you don't have to go through the trouble of generating all of them through code as VS can do this for you.
