Of course it's not that hard, but it gets annoying checking the News section a million times a weekend only to see that the next edition has not came out yet.

This is a beneficial feature.

Why not add something that would benefit most users? It's a simple feature that most users in this thread actually like/want. No, it's not a life or death situation, but neither are many of "simple" changes to the site. Just something to make the forum better for all or most members.

It wont take much resources, it won't hurt anyone.

One clear advantage I see for this is the news team will honestly be urged even further to get the news out on time... hopefully.

The only problem is the HF news team needs to get there shit together.

Get new people. It don't take more than a few days to finish the whole thing and prepare it for Saturday afternoon release.

The delays are ridiculous.

I think this is a good idea for members that actually read the news. But how could they get the notifications? I'm sure not everyone wants to read it

Yeah, with the amount of time and effort put into the paper every week, a bit more "promotion" from this suggestion wouldn't hurt.

Well, from what I thought, it's supposed to be posted every Saturday.

But of course, the writers have lives as well and it can be a bit delayed as it was this weekend and last weekend.

So, you never really know when a new edition is coming out exactly.

I could make a userscript for it. I have a pretty good idea on how it would work.

Sad part is, I'd have to have Sir's help making it because I can't stay up every saturday/sunday night and wait for the news to be posted.

The thing with the userscript, is not every member will download it, not everyone will know about it, which is why I'd like Omni to make a plugin/add-on for it.
