Well it becomes officially unlocked. So if you change providers in the future you would be able to use it with them. I think you will eventually sell it as newer phones will be out in the future.
But it just gains your device Mobile service freedom, so if you travel internationally you could use it there. 🤝

All the prepaid sim cards at wallmart will work if you plan on ditching at&ts bills. lol

Yes it will. The unlock is official. And at&t gives me legal rights to unlock on their servers, I pay them monthly. Your plan will stay intact. The only difference is that in the future you can use it with other companies. And your iPhone will be worth $65-$100 dollars more.
