This week's poll is all about the ecchi genre. For this issue of AAWP you will be voting for your stance on the genre.

Definition of Ecchi:


For this vote we are focusing mainly on the anime and manga genres of ecchi and not so much the artform itself. Now, some ecchi shows have taste right? Some descreet skin shots here and there. But what we are voting for in this issue, is STRAIGHT ECCHI. These include series such as Highschool DxD, Demon King Daimao and Zero no Tsukaima. Shows that not only flood the screen with skin for the majority of the show, but tries to erotify just about every scene within itself. Straight ecchi.

The question: How do you feel about ecchi? Your choices:

Because I am a big ecchi fan but I also watch other genre's so the option It's the only thing I watch! isn't the right one for me ...

I <3 Rosario + Vampire (you can tell by my sig and avatar but I am not sure if it's straight ecchi ...).
I also like Highschool DxD, Maken-Ki, Kiss x Sis and some other ones.

I am even watching echhi right now: Sora no Otoshimono.

I voted for "I don't mind it" but now that I think about it, I avoid it. I often feel that ecchi anime has poor storyline and the only good bit is the sex appeal, and if I want to jack off I am better off going with some hentai or regular porn.

You could say that Elfen Lied is ecchi but that is an exception :)

I however find it fun to share Ecchi pictures/videos and I do watch Ecchi "sometimes" (almost never).

Sure some memorable comedies depend somewhat on ecchi, but other than that it's only used for shitty harem in shitty anime, or as a fanservice right in the middle of a dead-serious moment as if to specifically get on my nerves. Now that I think about it, I probably should have voted the next one below.

I avidly enjoy ecchi If I can pick between normal or ecchi I go with ecchi with the exemptions of good series like clannad, elfen lied, etc.

I like ecchi, but only when the show is not ONLY about ecchi.

For example, a series that I love is bake/nisemonogatari. There is definitely a strong ecchi influence, but the show does not revolve around it.
