To UB3Rs & L33ts misusing their powers |

I agree as well. A member needs to understand that a certain standard must be followed to become respectable. As stated in the rules, don't type like a retard and act mature. It's not so hard to use some nice grammar and common sense is it? New members need to understand this, being harsh with rep will allow them to see that and hopefully improve. Speaking from experience here, I was a Skid with like -14 rep until I tried my best to be HQ and type like a human. Now look at me, I type like this all the time out of habit, my posts are more or less HQ and I am some what respected in the .NET section with the ocasional trolling to morons who always post 'i wantz cryfter'.
I agree with you, I think it's sad that some Ub3rs and L33ts do this. I my self have never done it just for the fact that it can be disheartening. But on some level, the user might deserve the negatives, take in to account the users the SE us just to get rep or the ones that say "It's so hard to get rep. Any tips?" Sure the reputation is flawed, and sure some users abuse their power, but sadly, there's nothing much we can do.
When I first joined Hackforums I got a neg 3 from Poppins and bitched about it. I had over 14 negative at that point. After I got L33T all those reps for some reason started vanishing from my list, I can only assume they delete there negatives. After I got Ub3r only one negative was left, and that was from poppins himself. I now have over 200rep and stayed throughout it all even after wanting to leave. So if a member can't put up with it, then we don't need them. IF you think about it logically they got that neg rep for something thats usually fair and just... And then while knowing the rules post that thread regardless. So if I can stay after getting fucked with neg reps then why can't everyone else.

Change has to come, we have to become more responsible and compassionate, this forum can become the best in the world If we act responsibly and in a mature manner.

I think that I'm complaining because "it is against the rules." No, you are wrong. I'm making a public statement to let the community know that such actions do not help the forum progress. I can understand those who are against this thread because I guess you are identified with the kind of member that would naturally do this (the one I mention in the main post).

The first problem is the people making the threads. No rep complaining threads = no chance for a user to be neg rep'd many times. I don't neg people in those threads because I know others will anyways, but I can see why people do it. The threads are annoying and don't add anything useful/valuable to the community. It's just a complaint thread, and nobody really likes whining people.
This is a decent thread, but honestly won't solve anything imo. |
