[TuT] - An easy way of obtaining someones IP address using their DNS - [TuT]

Hello members of hack forums. Jibbs here.

Today I've come across a nice, simple and easy way of obtaining someones IP using their DNS. Now, what is a DNS? It stands for Domain Naming System and it basically turns numerical IP addresses into letters. A service called No-IP supplies free DNS's and is used by a lot of people. A lot of people on here use it for RATs. So let's get started with the tutorial.

Obtaining the IP.

So, to get someones IP using their DNS is a very easy thing to do. You'll need the victims DNS and cmd. Open up cmd by click start > run > cmd > enter. Type the following command.

ping (victims DNS)

Conclusion.

Within a few seconds you will have the IP. Easy and yes you're eyes are fine, there is only 1 step. :3 You can do this persistently until the victim removes the entire DNS entry. This can also be helpful to people out there to want to initiate or prevent DDoS attacks. That's it and I hope everyone enjoyed my tutorial. I know I will help a few people out there. I think you missed the point of where you will explain how to obtain a DNS.

Thanks man, and Skype resolving is now patched, isn't it? :\ Anyway, this method may be hard to obtain the victims DNS but once you do the IP is one step away at all times. Until they completely delete the DNS, but I doubt the person will know how the attacker is getting their IP.

You can use social engineering. :D Or you can also use WireShark, capture network packets, apply a filter and see all of the DNS's that are connecting to you. You can do this if you're infected by a RAT.

You need their real IP to get their DNS in the first place, what's the point of this?

I think you should rename this tutorial "How to ping a domain name". That's really all you are doing.
