Random lag spikes

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but recently I have been having these lag spikes that are really annoying. I have comcast internet, and I was pinging my internet to show you guys. It's perfectly fine, an average of about 2ms, then all of a sudden it up to 950ms, to 600, back to normal, then goes right up again. Do you guys know how I can fix this? I have no idea why this is happening.

I guess I'll just call Comcast about this tomorrow. It's really pissing me off.
Are you on a wireless router perchance?

It's been pissing me off on Xbox so much. I thought it was just me. Let me know what happens when you call them

Same thing dude, I've been playing Black Ops all day, be doing good, then just get fucking lag. Like, my internet doesn't crash, I just lag so goddamn hard.
For the love of god... there's no retransmit AFAIK in DOCSIS3. This is a problem with 802.11(a|b|g|n). Get a better wireless setup.

Speedtest.net isn't loading for some reason. Probably because I have a shit computer. I'll post it if I can get it working.

It has to be Comcast. We live in two totally different locations. I live in Chicago.
I have comcast also. I just checked, my internet is fine.

Yeah It's fine for me now. But randomly I get lag spikes. Have you ever gotten it?
DUMBASS ALERT DUMBASS ALERT SOMEONE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND TECHNOLOGY.

It's your WIFI router that's doing this. If it was comcast, you'd see full-drop on packets. Instead, you're being forced into 802.11(a|b|g|n) retransmits, which will seem like "lag spikes". It's not comcast. No matter how much you want to blame comcast, IT'S NOT FUCKING COMCAST.

Edit: Oh cool, I'm immortalized in a screenshot. HI MOM.

Jesus christ, calm down. No need to rage just because I'm not good with internet. 🤣 Edit: Thank you Moderator for moving this.
