At the moment it seems like it's only OS-based modifications from the name of the award and the description, but there could be more opportunity and modifications if it was for more than just the OS.
JailBreak Freak Award Wrote:For the smart phone hackers.
Hacking is the act of manipulating something that wasn't intended to be manipulated. But it could also be programming, or even penetration testing. So the term "hacking" has a very large field of coverage.
I see no reason to assume it would only for OS-based modifications.

Agreed, maybe just an iPhone or something, or an Apple logo.
Looks like Grin is adding a new one. :D
I should get that reward :) I know all about that stuff.

This is a good list.
I think the first to get it will be between: Grin, xadamxk and #Thunder.

I'll try to improve it when I have the time. It's built from scratch in a hurry too.

You want #Thunder thread to take over yours ? 😎

My era of providing technical support and malware removal on HackForums is over, so you can stop PM'ing me about it. Sorry.

I'm a true Jailbreak freak. Not sure how I'd show it though.
Damn, wish it were for Jailbreaking in general.

Make tutorials, help other people having problems and be noticeable.
These two will surely get this for their extensive work in this section, soon.
You might aswell change the title of the thread to suggesting members for the award.

This. All I can see is kids dickriding ub3rs with 2k rep to get them the award. Hurdur, 'post tuts for awards'.

Pretty much yeah.
Icon looks like a jailbreak logo. I get the idea behind it, but I agree with everyone else.
Didn't expect Omni to make an award for this anytime soon.
For iOS, easily xadamxk and Grin, they're the most helpful there.
I don't look into the Android section much, but Able (Connected) has a sticky there and #Thunder has done a lot in there as well.
Those are who I'd see most likely getting this award soon, or at least those who would deserve it.

I love the idea behind this award, and I hope people will use it as a learning experience. Of course an award is nice, but it's the knowledge you gain from striving for it that really counts in the long run. I remember jailbreaking my very first iPod Touch 1 when I was still in high school, it must be 5 years ago at this point. When word got around, I was soon the go-to person, charging $5 to jailbreak everyone's device. That got me enough money to continuously upgrade my devices, until I ended up with a 4th Gen touch that I still use as a music device. Two and a half years ago, I got my first Android phone, a Galaxy S II. Of course it was rooted within an hour of getting home. Since then I've been active in the XDA-Dev community and have also upgraded to a Nexus 4 device since it is known for its "hackability". From experience, this is a wonderful award to add to the forum, and gaining the knowledge needed to get a chance of getting it is well worth it in the long run. Good luck everyone, especially Grin and xadamxk (noob).
