Paypal Holders Disallowed

Glad to see you doing this, wise choice.
Only use HF to deal.
Another nice effect of this is it will undoubtedly promote BTC in the markets here on HF as well as the actual BTC market. The more sellers promote it, the more people will use it.

The more BTC that's used here the safer the community will be and the easier transactions will be. For everyone.
The whole thought of needing a paypal holder is sketchy. I feel like you could put whatever reason you wanted to it, and still its a terrible idea. To hold money or leave money in someone other than your self's care is irresponsible.
glad to see the change👍

People may need exchanges more as they try to get some BTC to make deals with.

Is this your day of endorsing BTC?

Good move Omni. I was banned from PayPal on both of my accounts and I'm not afraid to admit it. I didn't go out of my way to make a 3rd, 4th, 50th account because I acknowledged I was wrong and moved on.

Liberty Reserve was my second processor, now it's BTC. People need to learn to adapt to change, and not use run around's or loopholes to continue using PayPal's service (such as a PP holder). And cheer up man, you just cut the marketplace BS down by a whole half, maybe even more. That's worthy of a moderately warm ale, or a frosty cold beer. Which ever you decide 😁
THANK YOU. A bit overly-strongly worded in my opinion, but this needed to be said for quite a while.
If you can't get your own PayPal, don't offer PayPal. Simple. Glad to see this implemented.

It's probably for the best. Stops people from getting scammed and limited.

A middleman often offers guarantees to parties involved in a deal. That's sort of why they exist. A middleman can accept many forms of payment not just PP. As a matter of good escrow a MM should use BTC if they truly want to facilitate a safe deal. When using a MM service both parties should be notified.

A PP holder is someone that accepts payments for someone else via PP. Often those involved in deals are not told they are paying a "holder". People who use holders are often people that either don't want to risk their own account but usually are people that PP doesn't allow to have an account. Holders are becoming a serious problem in this community where those looking for a "holder" that takes PP then pays them in BTC. This sets up the holder to get ripped off in deals while the other guy keeps the BTC and opens a new account to rinse and repeat. PP holders themselves should not be trusted. Someone can hold your money then tell you they got scammed or their account limited which may or may not be true. Or they could simply not give you the money and laugh at your stupidity.

In any case I'm viewing PP Holders as a form of financial fraud and a threat to the communities safety in the Marketplace. It will no longer be allowed. That does include offering to be one or if you're looking to get one. And you do what you want off-site but if I catch you doing this in HF deals I just close your account instantly and without care.

I hope that clarifies.

No. You're using a PP Holder in that case. Unacceptable. If you don't have PP then you tell your customers to send BTC.

Glad that was sorted out thanks Omni. I get it now.

Yea, it is about time something puts a little heat on PP. I wonder what the future holds for BTC. Though, this is the point where businesses of the future are made.

Anyway, a bit more on topic, this should cause some structure changes in the marketplace which will be interesting. Surely some big sellers will have their income cut until they make it back up with sells in BTC.
This was definitely needed in my eyes. Hopefully this lowers the level of scams and other undesirable activity taking place.
If a major US retailer like Overstock.com can begin accepting BTC then so can HF retailers and marketplace members.
About time... Got scammed BIG time with this. :/

Does this rule include those who have a mandatory holding time when taking PayPal as a payment option? For example; A wants to sell his BTC. B wants to buy it via PP. A requires payment of PP first, followed by a mandatory 3 day holding period before he pays out his BTC to B? I hope that was clear enough.
