They still have 10 episodes to go, according to MAL, so hopefully things start unravelling soon enough. So far it has just been hinting at stuff then dropping it then coming back to it a few episodes later.

It's by SHAFT. Any less than over-the-top animations, excessive angles and excruciatingly diligent attention to detail would be scrapped.
