'Edit Rep' Button

I believe on someone's reputation page, there should be an 'Edit Rep' button towards the top (maybe 'Rate User' turns into 'Edit Rep' after you've repped the person). I say this because, if you have used all of the rep you can give for 24 hours, it doesn't even allow you to edit previously made reputations, and this can be a problem. Like if someone scammed you, and you have to wait a whole 24 hours before you can update their rep on you, another person could fall prey, not knowing they were a scammer.

Thanks,
Demoz
I aplogise if I'm wrong, but I believe there is already an Edit Rep option for Ub3rs? I remember in a previous thread

Solution: wait 24 hours.
In case of getting scammed, just open a scam report. They should look up his UID.

Thanks for the obvious answer. I never would have thought of that... Also, the scamming thing was just an example. Maybe you just want to update someone's rep.

My answer was sarcasm to an obvious answer. I'm having a hard time seeing how this benefits the rep system. If it's a scammer, you can just open a scam report and buyers can look up the UID. If it's anything else you can just wait like we did for more than six years. If it's a friend's rep you want to update, you wait. There's a reason there are rep restrictions over certain periods of time.
I agree OP. It is annoying that I can't edit someones rep if I have given too many in a day.
I don't care about it saying Rate User or Edit Rep, I just want it to not count towards my daily rep.

It's counted towards your daily rep because you can change its value. A lot of people would use those unlimited changes to "troll" their friends or to piss off other members.
I like this idea; updating a given reputation shouldn't count towards the daily reputation count.

I've seen numerous people - including myself - giving positive reputation to a scammer when they meant to do negative (forgot to change the value), meaning they had to wait until able to give reputation again to update it.

Does that mean there should be a system modification -on some level.- because some persons can't pay attention to the rep they're giving? As I said it could be used to troll other users/harass other users.

Then you report them for rep abuse.
It's not that complicated

Oh okay, please tell me who handles rep abuse nowadays.
I like this idea, would be nice to be able to edit rep without using up my rep for the day.

No-one specifically handles it, but if you feel it necessary PM Omniscient, but be warned that if you've broken any rules you should expect punishment as he will comb your account so finely to see if you're a rule breaker etc and to see if the rep is valid or not.

I reported a rep abuse to him the other week and everything was fine.

Yeah, I know about that. If we were to report rep abuse in case this suggestion was approved, Omniscient would either be swarmed with PMs from members who get rep abused, or no one would PM him because they know they break the rules. In both cases, there would still be harassment, and rep isn't handled by staff anymore.

Sure, if we had an army of Omniscients then why not. Sadly, we just have one.
I am pretty sure a while back it was update rep. Just wait for the new reputation system. There is bigger things to fix and spend time more wisely then this.
