Thread Design - Color Dust

The image talks for itself.
Icons aren't aligned, not even the same size, text has no consistency due to the changes of size. No flow at all.
Pixels on the arrows are visible which makes them look horrible.
Like Sniper said, padding is a huge issue in here as well. Last but not least, BG is terrible, has no atmosphere in it, just a random blurred bg.

Sniper made the best criticism you could have had but still, from all his reply, you held just onto a quote and calling it "not professional".

I hate insulting new-commers or even designers in general, but you sir are a jerk. People provide you with constructive feedback and you flame back at them.
You've got no place in the fields of graphics with such attitude.

It reminds me of http://html5up.net/overflow :P

I'm so glad you were able to bring this up; I was thinking the same thing.
It's actually a complete rip just put on a thread design; I'm going to leave it at that.

It's also the template for my website.

Sigh, this is quite sad. Very hard to find originality in this section these days. You guys know that you're only tricking yourself by copying a design and asking for critique? Some of you have to stop calling yourselves "designers."

> Takes idea (in this case, triangles)
"OH LAWD YOU JUST RIPPED OFF THE IDEA"
Holy piss, this forum gets filled with more whiny idiots each year.

Or we can look at it that you basically inherited the whole theme of the site to your design, including the heading font style.

Haha "whiny idiots." What do you expect to learn from copying an idea from an another site? Clearly you do designs to impress, not express. Holy piss, this forum gets filled with more shitty "designers" each year. Learn your fundamentals of design before posting a thread like this.

I took nothing other than the background and triangles. I know my fundamentals, I've been doing this for about four years. Designing isn't my life, I won't spend more than 3 months straight designing without stopping for months.
Of course I'm bad at it. I hardly practice anymore. Designing isn't a passion, it's a hobby.
Who "sells" his hobbies? I thought you were working in a printing industry and you were taking designing seriously, at a professional level as you said yourself. That's the reason you opened a services thread, isn't it?

You're a disgrace in my eyes.
I like it! Great job making it! Keep up the good work!

It doesn't matter if you've been doing this for 4 months or years, it's still evident that you lack sufficient sense of design. And your last statement did not make any sense; you can still have passion for a hobby.

Point is: If you truly want to improve, create an original concept instead of being too inspired by a single artwork.
Beautiful design, looks really smooth and the colours go together really well! Are you going to be releasing this ? ;-)))))

A hobby isn't always a passion. I have multiple hobbies, but only one is my true passion -- it's not GFX.

Whoa. It's as if people had different likings and passions.
As for my job, it's a part time job after my full-time at as a bank teller.
I do it to make my resume look better. The printing industry doesn't take a lot of work, as for most request are "Grab a nature background and write '___' over it".

Ignoring how you just ignored my critique, calling me unprofessional about how I gave you tips on how to improve, and being ignorant on the clearly obvious..

Of course this is the template for your website; you've downloaded the site template (ahem, CC3 license attribution) and in turn you've decided to copy the basic design and take it. It's a free design, don't you think that designers should design their own web site? What did you do to make your resume look better? Copy designs? You're digging yourself a deeper hole, and you just ruined what you called yourself a "professional" in graphics. Clearly you can not handle critique and being called out for copying a design. This section is not for you, and it won't help your job either.

Spoiler (Click to View)

1. Took background because I loved the flow in it, and it's just a Gaussian Blurred' picture, which probably wasn't taken by the designer, not really "riping off".

2. Arrows are part of Boot-strap, which isn't even from the Overflow template creator. I didn't even use the arrows, I recreated my own to fit the design.

Getting influenced by something isn't ripping-off. I mean, most of your designs are over-used with nothing new brought into the scene.

I don't care for critique from members in this forum who feel professional, but are nothing more than amateur designers -- pretty much everyone here is, otherwise they wouldn't be here.

Oh really? There's restrictions now? Pathetic.
