there is this ghost hack tool that's available to download. there is a lot of videos on youtube. unfortunately all of the links ive come across you have to complete surveys or partake in offers ect. this has nothing to do with jailbreaking your ps3. its just a tool that you download, enter your credentials and then it hacks for you. (basically hacks your psn id @ activision). you click the the tabs that you want to hack. you can for instance enable godmode and leave the rest, or do just what you like.

is this a scam or is there really something like that out there?
what is your thoughts

It depends, if it requires you to put in your PSN id and password yes it is fake. If it wants an IP then it is most likely a real tool because that is how the modding tools woirk with the PS3 vis FTP (file transfer protocol) server. And in order for the FTP server to connect to your PS3 it has to be jailbroken with the FTP pkg installed on it.

If you get console banned you can just change your CID and you will be unbanned.

There is always a risk.
I suggest getting someone who has experience doing it because if you are new to it there is a good chance you will fuck up.

How do i check the model of my PS3?

On the BACK ( not under ) of the PS3 there should be a label with a barcode on with numbers underneath. Your model number is at the end of the numbers for example, mine is CECH-2503B

and possibly MinVerCheck? You put it on your USB just like you would for a CFW and you goto system update> Via Storage Device and it basically scans your PS3 for the Lowest possible possible FW your PS3 can be downgraded to :)
