I'm pretty sure I've seen a black box that's updating the price in BTC.
It was a few months ago I saw it. I think it's a great suggestion thought!

Also the [btc]-, [ltc]- and so on tags.
I think this would be really convenient for sellers and buyers, it's easier than going to Prev and checking.

I threw together a quick prototype, which allows you to insert an image of the current value of a cryptocurrency in one of your post.
If you want to insert it in one of your posts, it's a simple image: Code Here are a few examples: Code http://crypto.deadbeef.me/btc/usd/1/normal: Value of 1 BTC in USD.It uses the internal Preev API and computes averages between the different exchanges. To convert between cryptocurrencies, their USD value is used. It seems that you have to ask Omni if you want to use it though, for a mysterious reason. I do not guarantee the accuracy of the values displayed nor its permanent availability. If you have found a bug or want the source, PM me. How much 50 dollars is in BTC for instance. Good job though. It can be used. (Jun 15, 2014 07:00 AM)Deadbeef Wrote: I threw together a quick prototype. If that's a php script or dynamic image you'll need Omniscient's explicit permission before using it on HF I think.

It's a web server generating the image on request. I personally do not keep logs, but I removed the image from my post to comply with the rules. If you want to use it, you will have to ask Omni before; I don't want to deal with this. (Jun 15, 2014 07:43 AM)Deadbeef Wrote: I updated my post; now you can. Ah yeah that's not good. You have to actually store the image on your webserver as far as I know. You cannot make it show dynamically like that. I am not sure if this would count, but my guess it that it won't. |
