So I have my xbox hooked up to my monitor using a DVI to HDMI cable and I also want to be able to switch back to my monitor without needing to unplug one cord and the other back in.

It should work but buy a more expensive one. I bought a $10 and it doesnt work for shit. So im not really mad, I mean that may work for you but, in essence its shit quality.

Correct. The way it's set up now can be seen above. I have to unplug one dvi cable then plug in my other dvi to use it as a monitor again.

I want to be able to switch back and forth without unplugging.

The one I bought doesnt even work at all. Like youll plug shit into it and the red light will come on but, when you push the button nothing happens.
