Okay. This is some bullshit right now. My Dad knows fuck all. He is trying to force me into working hard in shit I couldn't care about. I tried explaining to him that I don't need history and all that nonsense for a job programming in C++ or PHP or Ruby or JS but he says I do and keeps shit talking me that I will never ever be successful now I fucked up my GCSE results.
I showed him my earnings online after he said I haven't made any money ever and I showed him days where I made more than he made in a week in a day and the days were going for atleast 18 in a row. He then tells me that I was violating copyright laws when I made what I was selling myself and tries saying that I copied and pasted. He tells me that whatever I was doing was shit and it is silly schemes.
He is a fucking dick. He tells me I live in a dream world because I want to be successful and be rich, not work 40 hours a week for an average paid job. He tells me that I will never ever become successful.
All this because of fucking GCSE results. I can guarantee that if I ever do become a millionaire or even richer, he will have none of it. I plan to move out as soon as possible and move to Australia, which is what I am definitely doing and never make contact with him again until he accepts that I am not a waste of time because I failed 2 GCSE's and sees that the internet isn't a place to waste time but a place to learn...
I mean, I'm a 17 year old kid who is fluent in C++, PHP, Ruby, Perl and JS and he is trying to tell me that I have fucked up and I will never get a job with that knowledge because nobody cares for it. Absolute fucking idiot. To think I actually thought he was interested in what I do online.
Everything he said has really got me down. Just need to vent.
EDIT: He also flipped out because I took Spanish as an option in year 11. Apparently it is a useless option. It's what I want to do .
You're living in his house. If you think you know it all, move out. Pay for your own education. Pay your own bills.

Lol, i'm pretty sure every guy has a problem like this with their dad at some point. You just need to study hard bro. You always need a back up plan, sure the internet is a great place to learn, and i'm sure you are smart enough to make a career out of it, but still finish your education, and goto college because one day if it fails, you will have no knowledge and no diplomas to show for what you know to help you.
I think he just feels insecure about you and your future, but I think he is right. You are not very well off as you think if you are making money violating copyrights.

Move out then, you have to be 16 to move into a flat in the UK. The rent is low and flats are better than houses in my opinion.

All depends what you wanna do man, if you do want to carry on your education at all in your life then yeah GCSEs will bite you in the ass if you have done bad, I am nearly an example of that as one of my universitys wouldn't let me in because of a GCSE result was not up to their standards...but luckly i got in with clearing...But still do what you wanna do man, don't let adults tell you what to do but... listen to them.. they have lived/living life and they know how hard it is and how hard things can change.... :)
In your situation the best thing you can do is prove your father wrong, don't follow the education system and become successful in life :)

I am not violating any copyrights. He thinks that anything I sell, I steal it when infact, I am against blackhat and I want success and success with happiness means making money legally, which, is what I do.

It's always a good idea to have a backup plan. You will need at least an A to do ICT as an A level that is if you plan to get hired for a programming company, freelance is another story.

When I was living at home. I told my mom I did not want to find a job and focus on my online money making. She threw me out and I moved into my grandmothers house (I was 17). I ended up making like $5,000 in about 2 months. I showed my mom and she still called me a stupid fuck and said.
"Online money is great, and i'm proud of you. The point is that you need real life work experience and not just be unsocial and sit on your computer 24/7."
I get where she was coming from, but I'm not going to change my lifestyle because other kids are having a social life.
My friend is in the same boat. He's an amazing artist but his mom tells him that he's not all that great. Now he has in his head that he's not good enough to pursue it. Don't follow his path. Programming will take you far. Tell your dad to fuck off.
