Introduction
This is for remaining anonymous and safe from HACKERS online, not the FBI. I'm creating this tutorial to prevent HF members from being attacked by hackers. If the feds are after you, this tutorial isn't for you as you'll get caught either way. This tutorial is to provide members protection from hackers, swatters, doxers, ddosers, etc. I'm aware that there are already a lot of threads over these but this is for anyone who needs them that hasn't seen them yet, also, it's very detailed and long. I'll be updating this thread with new information over time so stay tuned. Please post to keep the thread active so more people can see it. Be sure to PM me with any suggestions or things to add. Also, PM me if you find any mistakes relating to links, grammar, etc. Let's make this one of the best threads out there. 🤝

Keeping Cool And Avoiding Being SE'd
Alright, this is probably pretty obvious but I want you to know this anyways as people fall for it a lot. AVOID BEING SOCIALLY ENGINEERED. You won't believe how much information you can accidentally give up. If someone asks you something like "lol bro i just tried to send you $5 but i think i might have the wrong email what is your email again?", you'll usually give them your email, and you know what? Their intention might not be sending you $5 after all. They may be attempting to dox you and they need your email address. You basically just gave up a big portion of your anonymity because you were tricked into giving up your email address. Do NOT give one bit information to someone when it's not mandatory or going to kill you. If someone says you won a giveaway and you give them your address, you've screwed yourself up. Do not give up one piece of information on yourself as I've said. Hackers rely on SEing a lot to gain information on their target and you can accidentally slip up and tell them the key to your dox. Here's an example of you being SE'd.
Your Doxer: Hey bud, what're you up to?
You: Nothing much man, just browsing the net. You?
Your Doxer: Well, I was trying to send you $5 because you're a chill guy and I've ran into some money lately but I can't seem to remember your email. Isn't that weird? Haha!
You: Dang bro, well do you still wanna send it?
Your Doxer: Yes man, you're a cool friend. So what's your email?
You: Oh, I'm flattered. My email is
Your Doxer: Alright, cool man. Give me a second.
Your Doxer: Damn, my mom is calling me, give me one second pal.
You: Sure thing pal.
Your Doxer: Well, I'm back. My mom wants me to get off, I'll see you tomorrow man!
You: Alright, cya man!
Your Doxer: Proceeds to dox your email because you slipped up and gave him it unintentionally
Remember, keep cool and avoid being socially engineered.

Choosing a Good Browser
For a browser, I really recommend Firefox. If you want to use TOR, be my guest, but I personally use Firefox to remain anonymous. It has a bunch of addons to help your security. You can easily set up a proxy in the browser so you can combine your VPN with a proxy for extra protection.
You can download Firefox from the original website below -
Firefox by Mozilla
If you've decided to use Firefox, you've made a good choice and we're 1 step closer towards better anonymity. Now that you have Firefox, we'll need to use some addons to protect ourselves from hackers, doxers, etc. Remember, addons are not 100% trusted so try to minimize that amount you use. You can use TOR if you don't trust these addons.

Firefox Add-On List
This is a list of addons that will help you remain safe from hackers. If you don't trust one of them, you don't have to download it, I'm sure you'll find an alternative. 🤝
Https Everywhere
This allows you to visit sites with a secure Https connection.

Safety While Using Firefox
In order to stay safe using Firefox, we'll need to hide our IP address from hackers! In order to do this, set up a proxy for Firefox. In order to do this, you must follow these steps.
1) Open the Firefox menu, or, click those 3 bars stacked up on eachother below the X on Firefox.
2) Select "Options" and go to the "Advanced" tab.
3) Once you're in the advanced tab, click on the tab that says "Network" inside of the "Advanced" tab.
4) You should see an option to configure how Firefox connects to the internet, followed by a button that says "Settings...", click that button.
5) Once you click that, go over to this forum and find you a good proxy list, then select a proxy from that list. I suggest picking a proxy from the middle of the list as people usually just use the first proxy they see, meaning you'll have tons of other people using the same proxy as you.
6) Once you have that proxy, select the bubble in the "Settings..." tab that says "Manual Proxy Configuration", copy your proxy IP from your list, and paste it into the bar that says "HTTP Proxy" and the port into the box that says "Port".
If you're unaware of what to copy/paste, the proxy usually looks like this.
127.0.0.1:80 (Proxy IP:Port) Also, 127.0.0.1 and 80 are NOT what you should be entering, they are just an example.
7) Once you have that set up, select the box that says "Use this proxy server for all protocols" and press the "OK" button.
You're done setting up a proxy, now I recommend combining this with a paid VPN, but if you don't have a paid one, then just use a free one.
Now that you have set up a proxy, let's fix up our privacy. Go over to the "Privacy" tab and for "Tracking", select "Tell websites I do not want to be tracked".
For history, select "Use custom settings for history". Now still on the history part, select the box that says "Always use private browsing mode" to prevent history from being logged. You can select the box "Accept cookies from sites" but make sure you select "Never" on "Accept third-party cookies".
For the "Location Bar" part that says "When using the location bar, suggest:", select "Nothing" to cover up recent searches.
Now, let's get some better security, this will be helpful against dangerous sites. So first, go to the over to the "Security" tab.
Select all boxes that say -
1. Warn me when sites try to install addons
2. Block reported attack sites (I've been told that this may send reports to Google so keep it in mind)
3. Block reported web forgeries (I've been told that this may send reports to Google so keep it in mind)
Just another tip, go to the "Tabs" bar and select "Warn me when closing multiple tabs" and "Open new windows in a new tab instead". This is helpful in case you accidentally click a link and then you lose all your hard work (for example, I could accidentally leave this post and lose all this hard work).
Now, let's move on to the things outside of your browser.

Protecting Skype
I understand that Skype is easy to use but sometimes, those DDoSers or doxers will try and grab your IP to DDoS or ISP dox you. This will teach you how to protect your IP from them online. Also, make sure you're on the latest version of Skype.
1) Click on the "Tools" tab and then "Options..."
2) Then, go to "Advanced" and then "Connection"
3) Once in connection, change the settings to the same as the picture's settings.
Spoiler (Click to View)
These steps were provided by my bae, Ðexter, here.
You should visit the thread and follow his other steps in order to secure your Skype more. You should also try to be on a VPN at all times. You don't want to risk your IP at all because a resolver may not work while another does. This is why you should always try to use a VPN or a proxy. If you don't want to risk your IP regardless of those steps, then keep reading, because XMPP is what you need.

An Alternative to Skype, XMPP
XMPP, like Skype, is an IM system. You can use this to chat with your friends without worrying about those dicks grabbing your IP address and DDoSing you until you're married in another country with a different identity (hyperbole, you get what I mean though) so that's why I use it. It's fairly easy to set up and I'll show you how.
1) Download Pidgin, an XMPP client, and install it.
2) Once you install it, open it up and go to the "Accounts" tab, and then "Manage". After you're on manage, select "Add" and this is where we will make our account.
3) For your protocol, select "XMPP". For username, select whatever you want. Sometimes, you can get an OG name if it isn't taken on the server you're using. For domain, you can use some of the domains I list below. (Your domain will be after your name. Example: ) Set up your password that you'd like and remember to tick the boxes that say "Remember password" and "Create this new account on the server" before pressing "Add".
To encrypt your chats and make sure you have no logs, download OTR. It's a plugin for XMPP.
Get OTR here!
Once you install it, go to the "Options" tab, then "Plugins", and finally, check this box -

List of VPNs
I suggest getting a paid VPN as they're safer than a free one.
If you don't know what a VPN is, I'll explain it. It is a way to hide your real IP address online from hackers, DDoSers, doxers, etc. I suggest using one at ALL times. It is much better than a proxy because the VPN is used for everything instead of just your browser. So for example, if 127.0.0.1 was your IP and you lived in California, a VPN would spoof your IP to something like 128.104.19.10 and it'd change your location to somewhere other than your home location.
