All those VPN's are ran by people on Hackforums or US companies, and I am sure if law enforcement contacted them, they'd hand over all information on a specific person, so yeah, not the best recommendations. Also, XMPP sells their chat logs I am pretty sure from what I heard awhile ago. You should change these up, not trying to be negative, just assisting you to better your thread.
I did infact like the Firefox information and add-ons though, cool stuff. Most Jabber servers do not keep any logs, and if they did all of your messages should be encrypted and all of your connections to the server should be made through Tor. I highly doubt that an open source chat client (referring to your post on my thread) could or would surreptitiously keep and then 'sell' logfiles. I also have the same doubt that a chat protocol (XMPP) with multiple different software iterations (ejabbered, prosody, etc) would do the same. All open-source, all the time. Don't you think that if this was the case, it would likely be big news. Your XMPP argument - I've included how to use OTR, so if they even do sell chat logs, which I highly doubt, they'd be encrypted because OTR. As for the VPN argument, I didn't say they had to chose them, they were just good choices for people who wanted to hide their IP from DDoSers, doxers, etc. (Oct 6, 2014 02:02 PM)Djehuty Wrote: I liked the tutorial, but the link for Request Policy and NoScript are the same. Oh, thanks, I'll fix it in a few seconds. Edit: Fixed. Well, using tor is also pretty good if you would want to add that. |
