Well, I upgraded myself to L33T using BTC which I gave to another member who then paid in the money for me.
& I think many members do that.
So it would actually reduce hassle for such members.
Another point is that as a hacking community we'd be actually promoting BTC which is a very good thing.
& then lastly you would also have less trouble so yeah I think it's a smart move.

However, some people do not use BTC but they could just get someone to upgrade them or to exchange their Paypal to BTC.

Well i'm going to upgrade as soon as i get the money i dont use BTC only Paypal so i dont think its good to make it BTC only.

I agree that you should accept BTC for upgrades, but I still think you should accept PayPal. Maybe for perks you could make BTC upgrades instant and slightly discounted.

Yes, this would be alot easier. Especially if people give away L33T and UB3R. Also, alot less stress with chargebacks and such.

It would be easier for members who have "problems" with paypal too.

Some people don't fully use BTC, but this could easily be changed should they ever want to upgrade. All they have to do is make an account at blockchain and exchange PP for BTC. It's that simple.

I personally think this is a very good idea.

If it only it was that simple. The amount of exchange scams has gone up, so it isn't the easiest thing to do anymore. I like the idea, but I am against it because of the drawn out exchange process, a lot of people do not use BTC and some do not even know what it is.

I think that you should add bitcoin as a payment option but still allow users to upgrade via paypal if they opt for the manual inspection. Like you said, not everyone is ready for bitcoin right now but if you set it up and started to push toward only btc. Down the line you would remove other payment methods. IMHO i just dont think that cutting it cold turkey is a good idea.

While its a really smart move and it helps avoid reversals, Wouldn't this make it sort of easier for multi-accounters? since most of the multi scammers i've seen always continue to use the same Paypal account, At-least with paying via Paypal you have records of their emails and can tell if they're verified or non-verified etc. which i think it can be helpful information to track down these members; but then again on the upside using BTC you can ban them if they're violating the rules and they can't chargeback >:D.

Either way i vote for 100% BTC upgrades as its easier and less hassle with Paypal, However i think that this will result in MANY exchangers getting scammed for upgrades - which in return will cause exchangers to stop dealing with normal members and your upgrade sales will decline.

The scamming, Well the person who wants BTC will have to go first if that is the case, but disputing it on paypal can be a pain in the bloody arse.

As for the people who don't know. There will be plenty of members who would be more than willing to explain.

It has it's pros and cons really but I believe it could be a good idea overall.

I think a good majority of people that join HF probably don't use BTC at that time or know much about it. I know I never started to use it or anything besides paypal for that matter until after a good while on the forums.

So I think BTC ONLY upgrades would hurt your business by having much less people upgrade on here due to the increased hassle to acquire BTC and lower amount of people who use it do to not being as mainstream to the average public.

I do think implementing an automatic upgrading system that uses BTC alongside with the regular upgrading with paypal/CC could be a great benefit saving you time and hassle with occasional chargebacks.

I think this would be a great move. Nowadays it's not that hard to obtain BTC either.

Sites such as coinbase and btcdirect.eu and many many more if you simply google offer quite a bit.
