OMC Idea

I'm under the impression this is just a bluff in order to try to drive some quick demand for OMC.

Regardless of whether it's a bluff or not, long term, there's still no constant demand for OMC. Most people use it once for the award and are done with it. There are more stable cryptocurrencies out there for investment. OMC needs a subscription based upgrade or something to keep a CONSTANT level of demand for it, or I can't see a stable value ever appearing. As it stands, people use it for the award, and as more is mined, more people get the award, the price goes up and the chain of events repeats itself.

My suggestion: A subscription to be paid for in OMC for an enlarged PM inbox separate of 3p1c, all on-site upgrades to be paid for through OMC besides LTC/Bitcoinage, all SMF/sticky purchases to be paid for in OMC and have OMC advertised more heavily on HF. That could be through something as simple as a "what is OMC" stickied thread in the lounge for a bit to introduce people who currently aren't fully aware about what it is to the notion of HF's cryptocurrency. Just my thoughts.

They are really only valued to what the individual owner is selling them for. Plus, I think Omni is really trying to jumpstart the coin again.

Bluff? It's an idea, not a lie. It would make no sense for Omni to bluff considering it would cause outrage by those who spent a lot of money to collect OMC. Those omnicoins would then be dumped back on the exchange, effectively killing the coin and driving away even more interest. If you think this is just a way for him to drive up the price of his coins and not actually do something then you're not using your head. He wants to cause the price to rise, not kill the coin.
I don't really like the idea. It makes groups worthless, when you think of it's only $375. An award is fair, but not groups.

You can see my wallet is #1. If you add up the next 10 wallets they still don't combine enough to equal mine. And I'm sure those 10 are not owned by the same guy. They could potentially be 2-3 or even 5 or more. In any case I'm pretty dang sure no one has a million.

Somehow that just put a smile on my face.
While I don't think anybody has a million OMC, I think it may still be possible that people have more than you think. AllCrypt uses shared wallets which means the balance on the explorer may not be accurate whatsoever.
What if you did this 1 million OMC idea to create a new group people could 'rent.' So the 1 million OMC would grant them OMC leader (upon approval, of course) for one month, maybe two. They can have either all or limited privileges considering what it would be.

This would spur OMC trading on a regular basis. Even during the 1-2 months of someone new owning the group there would be massive trading among others to have the OMC ready for the next go-around. It would also ensure someone isn't getting to buy a group for under $400.

You could even do this whole project on a trial basis for 6 months or a year just to see how it goes with no promises it will run beyond that.

It would basically be a new group every month where people would scrap the precious group and its members and start a new one. I can't see it working tbh.
Maybe even restructure ep1c and make it a monthly payment in OMC kind of thing?

Buff up all the current perks and charge like $5/month in OMC through something like coinpayments. Things like sale tags for threads, large PM spaces, maybe notes next to names, etc.
The price will raise for a few weeks and then drop again. It won't be stable.
It's a nice way to promote omc i guess, however the value might not be appreciated by other group owners.

Infact this might make other group owners want to sell their group before this becomes reality and their groups drop from 6-10K to 2-3K.

Good luck with the idea though, I'm sure it will work out just fine as i see alot of inspiring suggestions around here.
I think it is good, but it might need to be more, because it wouldn't be much compared to the price of other groups.

There are pros and cons to everything and I was only giving a very brief idea of how it could work. There are lots of things that could be tweaked to make the idea work and work very well. Also, as a failsafe, as I had stated before it could be a 6 month (give or take) "trial" project just to see the response and results anyway.

Why should groups even be worth so much? It ruins the point of them. They shouldn't be for a few people to just monetize off of them, they should be for bettering the sites quality with contributions and so on. Besides, it's only going to be one group sold, really it should be too bad to the current group owners.
According to AllCrypt, that's about $1.1k in Bitcoin value.

Great idea though.
Being the developer of the coin, I strongly disagree with this idea. However it's entirely up to you i guess.

Total supply: 13,371,337
Total mined: 5,961,215
Asking price: 1,000,000

Who ever manages to receive that amount of coins, has the power to manipulate.
-I know you have 2-million coins already, but you're trust worthy, ofc.
However, i would like to know what you're going to do with that amount of coins?

I know you're only trying to increase the activity within the coin, but I'm sorry to say..it's limited.
Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.
