OMC Idea

(Oct 11, 2014 07:17 AM)Seisou Wrote:  Why should groups even be worth so much? It ruins the point of them. They shouldn't be for a few people to just monetize off of them, they should be for bettering the sites quality with contributions and so on. Besides, it's only going to be one group sold, really it should be too bad to the current group owners.

It's supply and demand. The biggest reason for the demand to require such a high price tag for groups is the ability to monetize from them and gain substantial profits and income.

Total supply: 13,371,337
Total mined: 5,961,215
Asking price: 1,000,000

Who ever manages to receive that amount of coins, has the power to manipulate.
-I know you have 2-million coins already, but you're trust worthy, ofc.
However, i would like to know what you're going to do with that amount of coins?

I know you're only trying to increase the activity within the coin, but I'm sorry to say..it's limited. Anyway all the best. 🤝
when the developer of the coin says its a bad idea maybe you should listen.
Heres how i see it
someone buys a group for about 1k
then they flip it for an easy 2k-9k profit

so yeah just making money for the people and omni coin will just decrease in profit
I think 1,000,000 OMC is a little far fetched for some users, maybe 750,000 OMC?

I feel like this would do great for the currency, and hackforums as a whole.

What would you plan on doing with the OMC though? I mean like, you'd have the given amount of OMC, but how would you go about putting that back into the community?

The problem is not exactly the profit. But hell, that's a big part..without a doubt.

The main part is the after effects after this has took place.
The total supply floating around will be limited..mainly due to the fact Omni will have 3-million coins. (only 5million coins mined so far.) That's 2-million in supply, with the difficulty increasing. God knows how many coins are lost, forgotten, aswell stolen (Online wallet being hacked).
This is only a temporarily fix, a week after the purchase it will decrease even further than the price of what it was before this thread.

The price has tripled since this thread, a quick pump before people dump??

Even if Omni integrates the group to be only bought and sold with Omnicoin.. can we trust those holding/buying so many coins?

the most i know a user has is 250k
honestly i doubt people can even acquire 1m

i remember ruining the market by selling 1k at 90 each :D
Wasn't there a scammer that stole a lot od wallets from a website?
Maybe Omni can do some kind of tutorial thread contest every week and the five winners receive xxxxx amount of omc, to help the supply float around more.
Omni, maybe a rule that they can't sell the group for X amount of time or maybe not be allowed to sell the group? In order to prevent people flipping the group for a 4-5k profit
There's already plenty of useless groups Omni...we surely we don't need another, do we?

and that alone is pretty much the whole reason they have become pointless and useless. They are flipped every couple of months and are no longer really used what they were first intended for. Omni knows that, and I think he will end up moving forward with his own decision regardless of what anyone says.
there are other usefull ideas for OMC like upgrading to pow3r on hackercraft with omc

The server was shut down awhile ago, and while he made a thread about possibly reviving it, it might not even happen.

i seen the thread about reviving it thats why i mention it
If other groups are like 8k to 12k...
Wouldn't you increase the price to match them since that is the value of groups?

So like 8 to 12 million OMC you will have to get.

Lol, if that happens (it never will) you might aswell consider the coin officially DEAD.
