I am always told not to get into penny stocks. I understand they're risky and usually have bad outcomes but what about day trading?

I have been using Marketwatch simulation trading with penny stocks(under $5) buying lower, selling when it goes up 10 or 20 cents and have had great success.

I would like to try it out with a couple hundred maybe a few thousand. What do you recommend to be the lowest trades, fast executing and live trades? I do not need tools like td ameritrade and Scott trade, just lowest fees and no unwritten charges

I traded penny stocks... however depends what you consider penny stocks to be. A lot of people consider them to be stocks under 5 bucks maybe even 10. Depends who you ask. Marketwatch is ok but you need a better paper trading platform you can't make it in this day and age with just stock prices as your form of data. You need charts, news, time and sales, and Level 2. This is my opinion and what works for me. Theres no one way to make money in this biz. You need to develop a plan the only way to do that is to practice. Whether you practice with real money or fake money is up to you. I suggest fake money (paper trading) cause you can make mistakes and learn. Try and get a strong winning percentage and apply it to a strat that can actually fit your initial investment. I use TD and a few other brokers. I love td for data. But usually get direct market access through other platform. I started off with only 2,500 but then made one trade and realized i had no idea what I was doing and started paper trading. Paper traded for 3 months. Then started trading real money on a cash account CASH ACCOUNT which has no buying power and you can't even short stocks. I doubled that account in a week. The next week another 50% the week after that doubled the account again. Switched to other margin accounts and started getting smashed on commissions lost a bit and debated if this is something I can keep doing. As soon as I realized I wanted to keep at it. That same day I had my best day yet. 3 months into trading real money I opened another account at a prop firm and started trading huge size 1000 shares of big boards. I used set losses on the days and traded with no emotion just pure strategy. That last month I made an average of 300-500 a day. I started going on vacation with my girlfriend paying tuition bills and even put money aside for Law school. Why am I telling you all this? Well just to bring the point home that there is no one way to trade. You need to have set goals in mind you can't dream of making 1k a day if you don't even know what a candle stick is. Paper trade get overwhelmed learn the basics, after that study the basics, after that study the basics again. Then start learning set ups. I have my bread and butter trades, Support resistance breaks, VWAP, EMAs. I never enter a trade saying wow looks like its about to go up lets hope it works. Thats a stupid strat it may work 2 times in a row but could blow up your account to 0 in the next trade. Lucky doesn't make you a good consistent trader Skill does. Put in the time and you will get rewards.

Typed this on my phone using text to speech and what not. Sitting in my night class. Sorry for typos or anything stupid. If you made it this far congrats.

You invest in PLUG, as do I. Why were the expected earnings 350% growth YoY? Earnings look pretty damn good compared to last year but they're down 15% today.
Good idea i will be following it, greets

Ergh;
Don't get me started.
Andy Marsh was a bit too optimistic and that caused a lot of investor optimism; Plug is actually expanding and doing fairly well in that..but just not to the extent investors hoped and so, it took a dive today. The earnings weren't horrible, but they weren't great either of course.
Long story short, at this point PLUG is a bit of a long haul. You just have to stay in if you believe in em and wait it out.

1. Is Forex worth getting to ? I've been seeing a lot of posts/threads under that category.

2. I'm a fan of long-term dividend stocks that have the potential to grow year-over-year, any idea how I can find these? I've been searching sites, and I found some high yield dividends stocks, but extremely volatile.
You should put an explanation of basic penny stocks and similar terms.

Forex is worth getting into if you give it the time, as with stocks.
It's not something you can just jump into and go with, you will have to do some learning in regards to charting and just how it all works.

Some google searches for "Dividend Stocks" should give you links to plenty of different sites with just that listed. It's a fairly common want.

Enronitis you need to stress the characteristics of successful people and traders.
Based on my experience of helping people become traders:
People that come asking basic questions have yet to do the research. And from my experience the ones that ask those basic questions never become traders and if they do are not successful. Bash me about this I don't care its based on my sample of people. On the other hand, the students of mine that actually come to me with specific questions like "AAPL is bouncing off support and is about to break through a down trend line on the 2day 5 min chart, Im thinking about entering here at xXXXX with a 30 cent stop at the low of the day. Do you have any suggestions on this trade plan?" Those kids that ask me that I know they went and did their homework studied how ever the hell they had to. Theres nothing you can't find on google everything is pretty much free. Once they ask questions about the very basics they will only learn the basics and just enough to get by. That to me makes a trader that trades on hopes and dreams rather then having a plan with good risk vs reward.

This is my opinion guys Enrontis loved to hear your view on this cause you know as well as I do that you can have a friend give you a whole horror story about how he needs money and how he's traded and blew up 2 accounts each 2,500 balance and needs your help. You train them practically give them trades and they turn around and get lazy, give up, don't follow basic rules, or just stop putting in 110%. A good friend of mine got up with me 5:00 AM every day for 3 months would come to my house trade in my basement with me I even set up a trading desk for him. He hit a slump cause he made stupid trades cause he started hoping and listening to other bs paid chatroom pump and dumpers. He was trading paper for 2 months and that 3rd month finally using real money so his losses freaked him out. He stopped coming in as early. One day he came at 9:00am I told him to leave cause he wasn't ready he insisted to stay and had his worst day ever.

This is just one story. So if I seem bitter about holding hands to the morning bell its cause I am bitter or maybe realistic.

sorry for long post.

I do agree with you.
Trading does take a level of a dedication and patience that most people don't have to start with. It's something that's learned and takes time to develop and effectively manage.
Majority of the questions as you said are able to be googled, but I still don't mind answering them in the hopes that somehow my answer will peak the interest of someone and give them that little push to go study on their own and explore the market.

I'm looking to get into investing but i don't really know where to start do you have any tips ? I have plenty of free time and am i am willing to learn, can you point me in the right direction ?
What do you think about APPLE (APPL) I bought them at around 99$ when should I sell, they are up today by almost 113$, I am thinking of waiting for the rise upto 120$ probably by the end of december and then put in a sell order, what do you think?

Well, what kind of investing?
Investing is a really broad term and includes everything from real estate to stocks to bonds, etc.
So what are you interested in?

You could hold it a lot longer than that I think.
I'd say drop a sell in for ~$150 honestly if you're looking to get out. If you just hold for a year or so you'll probably make a double.
