Disallow Steam Stealers [read]

Greetings, gentlemen and... gentlemen.

I had meant to make such a suggestion for a while now, but I lacked the proof that people used Steam Stealers to actually steal money, and the owners of such stealers told me that it wasn't necessarily "real" money.

(Refer to: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...931&page=3

Spoiler (Click to View))

Now, let's get started, shall we?
As most of us have seen, a lot of people are marketing their Steam Stealers, even a guide on how to spread efficiently.

The owners refuted my arguments by giving me a bullshit argument concerning RATs even though it had nothing to do with that.

Why are BTC stealers disallowed? Because BTC is an actual form of currency.
Now, you can say that it's "virtually" not worth anything all you want, but when the owners of the said product advertize their product as a way to steal money, then you got an issue there pal.

Need I say more? Items are being stolen daily, skins worth hundreds are being taken away. As the customer said, he defined his items as worth actual euros.

http://steamcommunity.com/market/
http://tf2outpost.com/
http://www.reddit.com/r/tf2trade/

What are these, you may ask? Why, those are 3 of the sites which can utilize real money to obtain items.

I do know that I have made this suggestion once before. And that it was locked because a "rat" can do what steam stealers do.

RATs CAN steal BTC. RATs CAN steal PP, but people don't buy them for such things nor are they advertized as such. I know that the owners of said products will come here and give me excuses for allowing their stuff only for them to make a quick buck at the cost of thousands of dollars of items worth.

Do people sell those items? Yes. They make money off from those. Example:

Here, you can see this fine lad stealing, and as he said "11 pages of pure keys" which have a marketplace value!

If staff does not agree, then go ahead and lock this, I won't make any other thread nor bitch about such a thing again. But at the same time, more and more people will lose their inventories because of this being advertized on HF.
Sorry, but I disagree.

Why is RATing allowed? People can make massive profits with that too, by stealing STEAM accounts, stealing RuneScape accounts and gold, RuneScape Private Server gold.
Sorry, but there's so many examples and I just don't feel like this would be right.

My personal opinion.

This isn't even a RAT. It instantly sends you a trade offer on Steam with the target's inventory.

RATTing is not advertized as "Want to make massive profit by stealing steam inventories (which have an actual market to themselves! meaning they are worth real and actual money!)) and tons of other stuff?". Nope. They are not advertized as that.

Steam stealers are advertized as that. Oh, so I can make a BTC stealer and advertize it as "Want to steal BTCs and just look at them? Buy this!"?

No, BTC is considered an actual currency, virtual items, also known as STEAM Items are not. I'm sorry, but I just don't see this enforced.

Not that it would hurt me, if this rule was enforced, but I just don't see why. We are a hacking forum, and let's stay that way. STEAM is virtual items, which means, it's not a real currency. Obviously, you can sell the items, but you are not obligated to.

But yes, I do agree with what you are saying, it's in fact stealing from people.
Those threads can be considered "Disallowed Blackhat activity". If you report it to a mod that knows the rules, it should be removed.

And? They are worth real money, how hard is that to understand? Even the owners of steam stealers approve. (Refer to screenshots)

You can ONLY get those items by PAYING REAL MONEY.
It is WORTH real money, it's not about being "obligated to" when the people selling the said stealers encourage you to buy their product for the only and obvious reason: Make money.
I've read the whole thread and I must agree with OP.
TF2, DotA and CS:GO have an economy, you can't possibly refute that. Hats with particle effects in TF2, earbuds and crate keys can range from two bucks to THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS - the most expensive hat which was ever sold in tf2's economy history was worth $8000ish (a Burning Team Captain, look it up), more or less -.
When you buy the products in the OP, their sole purpose is to get you those fancy hats with particle effects, earbuds and crate keys. Those items stand as a currency and they're the core of the economy, people make a lot of money with items.
While LaPanthere uses the example of a keylogger, sensitive information does not stand as a form of currency. One cannot pay using private information to get money, but you can trade your keys to money and it goes the other way around.
Think about it; let's say that you use this stealer to get 10 earbuds from a guy who worked his ass of to buy them. What are you going to do with them? Saying that the thief will keep the earbuds is delirious, an earbud is worth ~28$ which makes almost three hundred dollars. What is the thief going to sell them for? BTC/Paypal (the former is smarter when selling stolen goods as Valve does care about thefts).

In my honest opinion, steam inventory stealers should be disallowed on HF. Not only can they be considered as infinitely blackhat as you steal hundreds - if not thousands - of dollars worth of items using a software made to do that. You can use RATs/keyloggers for educational purposes or in legal ways, but inventory stealers can NEVER be used in such ways. A RAT might be used by a network administrator to conduct researches more easily, a keylogger might only be used for personal purposes... what the hell are you going to do with an inventory stealer? Saying an inventory stealer is the same as a RAT is like saying a bitcoins stealer is the same as a RAT... both steal a form of currency which is VERY popular. Furthermore the prime purpose of a RAT isn't to steal inventories as it's harder than you'd think to do so with a RAT... an inventory purpose is, again, programmed to do that task efficiently and quickly.

I cannot seem to report such threads any more as it has been more than 48 hours since the said threads were created.
EDIT: Stupid me, nevermind what I just said, just reported them.
Yes i agree with Obli , many trying to steal the Inventory and wallet funds on steam, please check on this sir

This is actually the same shit as ratting, but I totally agree with your point.

Gonna have to disagree with you when you said it's not a rat.

It is a rat. Just designed to take someones shit.

If they were only used within Steam, which means that no outer websites/communities would use them, your statement would be correct. Do you have any idea how many refined metal units were traded in the past 24 hours?

And metal is dropping atm.
What are you going to do with the items? Are you going to contemplate the ten earbuds you just stole? Perhaps are you going to keep that unusual you stole until it gets reverted to its original owner and you get a tradeban?

And advertized as "make money by stealing items worth actual money!", right?
It sends you a trade offer, in no way can you compare this to a RAT as a RAT won't send you a trade offer with items worth dozens.

You have my appreciations, Krew.🤗
Why can you talk about stealing steam items and accounts here, but not talk about stealing RS items and accounts?
