I also had to do this on Optus in Australia, I was like uh what the fuck? then I checked Twitter and saw I should change my DNS even though he said Windstream I decided to give it a go and now it works for me again.
Still the same so currently I'm using this script
https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4306809
Save my own isp dns to one file A and then save the google dns to another file B. Everytime I need access hf, I run google dns B first before access. If I want use back my isp dns, I run file A. It beat going to network connection and change it everytime. I'm the lazy type.
What's your DNS server settings for your router? Because 192.168.2.1 is your LAN router and I want to know what servers of your host to dig directly to complain to them. Have you tried to contact your host? Also does your router have settings for parental controls which possibly could be enabled and that may also be preventing your access.
Since this is a couple different ISPs I know this issue must be something else. So not sure what though just yet. I'd like to figure it out so I can work on fixing it.
Weird that it would just be dropping the traffic.
Even with the DNS servers changed
nslookup hackforums.net 8.8.8.8
what's the result?
Should be something like this
G:\Users\1111> nslookup hackforums.net 8.8.8.8
Server: google-public-dns-a.google.com
Address: 8.8.8.8
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: hackforums.net
Addresses: 141.101.121.10
141.101.121.12
141.101.121.13
141.101.121.11
141.101.121.9
And then do a nslookup hackforums.net
and see if the results are the same, if they are do a tracert hackforums.net and see how that goes

I can't access HF from data (Optus) on my iPhone either. How the hell do you set dns settings for data?
Looks like I'll have to ring them up too.

I don't think that's right
(I work for Telstra <3)
I know Telstra doesn't block people and I assume that Optus wouldn't either because otherwise people would be all upset on getting their traffic "monitored"

Looks like you have fixed this. Weird that it happened, though.

What phone are you using Tony? I'd say call Optus because yeah there's obviously an issue here. (I can't read, you said iPhone in your post, my mistake.)

Well, they do monitor traffic but as far as I'm aware any blocking is mostly done by via the router/192.168.0.1 at least in the case of Optus, I have no clue what is causing this and it's kind of annoying.

Call up your ISP and ask if they were blocking the site :"Here".

When I called my provider it took 30 minutes for some incompetent fucktard to not do shit, she said there's nothing she can do..
(I also sat in a line for like 2 hours waiting for "Help")

Never a good idea to do that. Lots of reasons.

After roughly 3 hours I get someone I could barely hear telling me "Is Hackforums blocked by us? No it is nothing in Optus there is nothing we can do goodbye have good day yes."
Such a great experience that was, it's always lovely calling Optus especially late at night, this is what I do at almost 11PM.

I have included some screenshots below of some things you may need and I am able to tell you that there is no parental controls enabled or anything of that nature as also provided in the screenshots below, as for contacting my host I just did that and got a typical reply I was expecting from them which was "No it is not blocked by us please confirm with them blah blah" and they're basically blaming everyone in the world for this problem, the guy I spoke to on the phone was a complete tool who had no idea what a DNS was and constantly told me to restart my router and computer, here's hoping this gets fixed soon if possible.

Don't you just hate that? I pay $130 a month + $400 phone bill to my ISP/phone provider (same company) and I still have to wait hours for a simple question to get answered, some technician at my ISP gave me a service number that works faster but that department was shut when I called or so I am led to believe, it's either that or they hate me.
