I personally don't use PTC sites and I've never used "PaidVerts" specifically so I wouldn't be able to talk realistically about profit.
However; from some quick googling it does seem to be a legitimate website that has paid out to everyone so far..
If you are confident your $50 will be paid back in full over a comfortable period of time, then by all means go for it. If I were you I'd look more into this before springing however..make sure you know what you're receiving for your investment and how it will effect any advertisements and whatever else you receive on a daily basis.
I've been reading and watching a lot about stocks but I still can't seem to get into the game, although I buy stocks (demo account) that go up, I never seem get more than just enough to cover the fees, so I was hoping you could tell me where to find profitable stocks and research them, also where could I learn anything on signals that show if the stock is going up or down. Thanks.

Hardly.
There's shorting for a reason mate. I hope you don't think that I'm long holding it, because I wouldn't be stupid enough to do that.
I've gotten in and out of plug half a dozen times by now at varying levels for the past year.
I am appreciative of the company and they are one of my favorites, they just aren't making investors very happy. I'm always watching them though.

What kind of stocks are you trading?
From the sounds of it, you literally might not be holding long enough. There is a level of patience required to earn money, but you should be easily to clear your $8 commission both ways..especially on a demo platform where you're often playing with $100,000..
Finding profitable stocks is the question that everyone has, and there's no one way to go about it. There's different types of analysis and everyone has a different idea of what they're looking for. It's up to you to decide your style of trading and figure out what's worth it for you.
As for signals: http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school
That's your best bet.

They're in distress, they're running out of cash and building debt. I've traded it once in the past 6 months and I was lucky enough to even come out ahead. But, if you like playing with fire, PLUG won't cease to give you the thrill of burned hand hair.

Yeah;
I haven't taken a loss with them yet, I've come out ahead thus far but there's no guarantee of course that I'll continue too.
It's a bit of a risky play but as long as you know your exits, it's not that bad.
I love what you are doing here Enronitis, keep up the good work, bookmarked this thread also if i need some help from you in the future 👍

I bought 60 in BGFV a while back when it was at $6.46 it's currently at $12.93, it peaked a while back at something like $25 last year. I'm thinkin of selling half and investing the profits made into something else. Should I go all or nothing or keep 30 in BGFV(I personally think it's gonna go down to about 10)?

Hey quick question. What do you think about the app acorns?
I'm slowly getting into investments. I'd love to start trading in stock and pennies (The cheap ones right?). I just have a few questions.
- How do I trade? Like in my country (Netherlands) we have plus500.nl but that seems like an internet broker for the most popular stocks.
- Do I need software? If so, what is the best for mac OSX?
I'd also like to get a mentor. Of course he'll get a percent of what we make together.
I'll make a thread about it too.

Personally being that you've made a double, I'd sell.
If you get greedy, you'll lose in the end.
That's just my trading attitude however, if you think the stock hasn't reached it's ceiling than by all means do a half-sell to make back your original investment and then keep the rest in to play with fire.

I think it's a really interesting idea, I've never used it and don't know anybody who has but at a very basic level I think it's a great thing for someone looking to make some extra cash, without knowing much or anything about the market.

You'd have to find an online broker that does what you need in the Netherlands, I have a feeling that plus500.nl allows you to trade other stocks than the "most popular" as that doesn't make too much sense too me. But hell, I could be wrong.
You don't need any software to be trading, most brokers have some base platform that allows you to execute your given trades. Some also have phone apps that allow for you to access your account and make trades on the go, it really depends on who you're with.
I personally would not be able to mentor you in such a way as legally I'm not an RIA yet and am not comfortable handling someone elses funds, or advising them as to what to invest in and when, and when to sell. My trading strategies work for me and I earn good money from trading, enough to comfortably live off of should I choose..but in the end it is my money in the first place so if I lose it, it's on me. If I lose yours though, well..that's on me and that sucks.

I'm trying out acorns so far and I have just shy of 50$ deposited.
Would you ever consider mentoring someone for money? I know you said you don't want to risk people's money but if they lose in the end it would be on them for agreeing to allow you to help. Even when you are a registered RIA there is still a risk your clients will lose money.
Anyways if you can mentor me for money or free im completely fine to lose/gain money.
Also what would be a good starting amount for investing?

That's true, but having some official backing to my name would make me a bit more comfortable in the handling of peoples money.
I've considered paid mentoring many-a-times, and it's something that in the future I may do at some point, but at this current point in time I will not be doing it for a variety of reasons, one of the most significant being my availability; school, studying, work and trading take up literally all my time these days. Once I'm off from school it'd be easier for me to do something like this.
Optimally you should aim to have $1,000. $500 is do-able too just makes things a bit harder.
Hmm. Alright understandable. Well o am in school for 6 hours so I'm mobile. But I can read stuff. Do you think you could link me to some good articles you found useful about learning to trade and the basics? Would be super helpful. :)
