Introduction

Hello fellow users, let me introduce myself to you. I'm Sakuto, I'm a Belgian web developer and recently I had to learn Javascript. Learning a language is always boring when you don't have any project, so here is my first project, and it's a project for you, active users of HackForums ! This project is born due to a little problem I encountered. I love make post in lot of discussions, I just answer to every question I see and sometime, I'm posting in the lounge, but when it's time to follow the answer of every author of thread, it was very hard to find each thread. I was using the "Your Posts" link, but result were not very usable. So I asked the Mentor / Staff if something was made to make this easily. Unfortunately, Omni answer me that it wasn't a project and nothing will never change. (You can see details here: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4590652). Since I was not very convinced by this answer, I just created this functionality myself, this user script was just designed to do this at first. But Javascript was so funny that I added a lot of features, and I'm still adding some right now. So here we are for the little introduction.

Description

So, HF Extensions are actually a little userscript (I'm projecting to developing it as a plugin to allow me to create more feature without being dependant of TamperScript) who's made to ease the navigation on HackForum. It basically fixes every little detail that can be annoying for an actual user, and add some features for every user. It's not a revolution, but it's a good way to improve your user experience.

Vouch

Given the recent event with the plugin, I asked Snorlax to vouch for my userscript, you can see his vouch right here. Since Snorlax is a very well know member, I think you can trust him when he say that the user script is not backdoored. If not, here is a direct link to the source to let you make your own opinion about this.

Ya this looks pretty clean. It uses a library called GM_config which comes from the creator directly: https://raw.github.com/sizzlemctwizzle/G..._config.js
Other than that, it's pretty good. Nice code, sends no requests, and it makes me happy to read, even though I can clearly tell you're French from looking at the comments and the variable names.

I haven't installed it to try it, but it looks pretty good.

Functionality

Here's a detailed list of every functionality actually implemented into HF Extension.

• Ignore multiple occurrence of one thread in the result of a search. Here's two little screenshot for a better explanation. Without the extension and with the extension. It's an easy way to focus on your thread and follow the discussions you were engaged in.
  
• Show multiple result page in one: The user script will load 1 to 5 pages directly into one, you just have to scroll and then go to the next page to get the 6-10 pages, view more information at one time, don't refresh every time!
  
• Clicking on the thread name on the search page will directly send you to the last message posted in this thread.
  
• Add link in reputation note: Did I really need to explain this feature?
  
• Get a notification when you receive a reputation: A pop-up will .. Pop onto your screen to show you the author of the reputation and the comment to the reputation. A click on the pop-up will open the reputation page in a new tab.
  
• Show a counter below the textarea : A counter for the 35 characters will appear below text area on answering (fast answer or not) to show you how much character you've typed. Never get an alert for the 35 characters again!
  
• Allow you to directly answer to a message through PM. The PM will have the selected message quoted, you just have to write your answers
  
• Add an enhanced code highlighting to every source code posted on a message (everywhere on this forum), make it more readable and easily to fix.
  
• Optimize the search result with less informations With script
  

To Do

Here's the functionality I project to add.

• Auto report after the 30 second cooldown
  
• Add possibility to ignore some gory or the locked thread (in search result page)
  
• Add template for automessage, one click will insert into the texture the message you have defined in the configuration.
  
• Fix the bug when the link will be finished by a dot.
  
• Fix the bug when the URL is not linked in the list.
  
• Add donation button below every post? (Need to be studied)

Installation

First, you will need a plugin to make it work, here's the download link :

But after the recent controversy with legitimate addons, this may need to be checked out.

I can easily understand your thinking, here's the source code : https://openuserjs.org/scripts/Sakuto/Un...ost/source . As you can see I'm directly using the jQuery lib from google server, no backdoor included :p

I just made a little modification to optimize the loading of the page, I'm now using promise to make asynchronous function.

Your script looks nice, I would love to use it, but Adam have a point. I would like if someone like Emylbus or Snorlax could review the code and confirm us that its indeed clean.

I'm indeed French, since ToDo are more from me than others users, I just write it in French but I'm trying to write everything else in English so anybody can take my code and create a fork based on it.

I have a question about this. Why does it take 3 seconds to load the content on the page when I have this script installed?
