OK, so I'm a COMPLETE retard...lot of time on my hands, what do I do?

I've been lurking HF for a long time. Only recently have I been able to spend the time I want to on here.

I've searched. I've read. I've posted and received some pm's from experienced members with ebooks and the like. Truly grateful!! But still lost. So here is my big question.....

What should I do to focus on monetizing? Details: I'm currently unemployed (and it looks like I will be forever due to health concerns) and I have all the time in the world to sit in front of a screen and do what I want. I really have nothing to invest at the start, but I DO have TIME on my side.

I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as some of the members here, at the same time, I'm not nearly as stupid as some of the members here (noobs like myself). But I am more than "computer literate". Don't know anything about networking, web stuff, etc. But I am decent with fixing the layman's computer issues that most seem to need help with.

So with that laid out......if you were me and had all the time in the world to focus on monetizing online, but had no investment, what would you do?

Anyone need help? Someone like me to handle things you can't because you're working your regular job? I'm available.

Alright HF, flame away. I'm ready for the insults👍
I would try out Affiliate Marketing.

Ok, I'm just going to straight up say this, don't fucking buy people's ebooks. They're selling the method because it does not fully work anymore (most of the time).

If I were you, I would browse the web and try finding your own method that works well for you, as you have much time on your hands as you said, I assume you have time to look around. Good luck on your endeavors!
Yeah, I'm not down for buying anything yet. Through all of my research that was the one thing that stood out to me. If it's being sold in an ebook, it's on it's last legs. That's the last "hurrah" for the seller to squeeze the last few unsaturated dimes out of a saturated method. Not all I'm sure, but probably most.

I have one method in mind that I'm working on now, but it sucks. But hey, it's a start and will help me get oriented and get my feet wet.

I'm not looking to get "rich" necessarily. I'm realistic. But it would be nice to pull a few hundred to a couple thousand a month in the end. I'd be happy to get there.
Lel, there must be someone saying: Well, erm, try E-whoring
However, I still would like to thank those that posted so far.
I would do e-whoring. Easy money from perverts.

Yeah, I considered that. I've actually tried that some in the past. Like many, didn't make anything, but that's not what deters me. I know I could make money that way if I really wanted to. I just really didn't like the feeling I got from it. I didn't like having to talk dirty to some Dude. Even if I could convince him to send me a decent payout.

Like my buddies and I used to say:

"Yeah you can suck a dxxk for a million bucks, but spend $1 and you're no longer a millionaire, and you'll be a c0cxsucxer the rest of your life."

I just don't like diggin' that low.
Take some time and learn coding and graphics.

That interests me as well. Coding. What would you suggest is a good place for a beginner to start? Just from my past experiences in learning new things, I think coding is one I would pick up quick.

And I know I just asked a dumb questions there with "where do I start coding?". I've seen suggestions about where newbs should start on various sites. I guess what I really meant to ask is "what should I be trying to learn to code?" What is relevant and needed TODAY?

I read that thread last night (and the night before). I'm going to look really hard at getting something like this set up. Looks like you build it slowly but it can give real potential over time if you're patient.

But I'm a little confused on this one too....(sorry for being dense). So...I'm taking it you set up a site and then you have the affiliate's links on your site? Then you get paid when they click those links and actually purchase something from your affiliate? Do I have it right in general? Or am I AFU?

Oh and let's say, hypothetically speaking of course, that someone had managed over the years to stockpile a large (for one person anyway) chunk of warez type items. Are there any possibilities there?
If you want coding codecademy is a great place to start.

I will check that out. Thanks for letting me know!

As far as I remember you can't post about selling, buying or trading warez on HF.
So let's say you are literate in terms of computers. You have some brain. But you lack experience.

I suggest to start doing some dummy proof methods, you'll earn some decent income while you learn something.
Along with doing these simple tasks, learn programming, web development, check webmaster, hacking and domainer, affiliate forums & blogs to see trends and get new ideas.

If you work hard and dedicate most of your time to learn new things you will move forward, get some high traffic website or something like that.

These are things you're capable to pull off right now and these methods are based on real business models & they work.

I had a feeling after I posted that. Thank you for correcting me!

Thank you! That gives me a little more direction. Every little bit helps.

Ok. I'm gonna go ahead and man-up and retract this statement. I was wrong.

Here is a post I wrote yesterday in another thread. I'm reposting it here because it's an "update" on what I've learned since starting this thread. That thread is here:

EDIT* (Evidently I can't post links yet. Sorry! I wanted to give credit to the other thread's OP).

(Jan 16, 2015 04:42 PM)hightechredneck Wrote:  Good thread. Thanks for the insight op!

Just recently I posted a thread asking for suggestions. As I stated there I know nothing. I don't know code, networking, or web. I don't know monetizing, seo, or ads. I don't know shit from shine-o-la. The only things I've ever "hacked" were devices. Phones, video games, tablets, whatever. I know I need to think outside the box, but had no clue at what angle to even approach this particular box.

In just the last 24 hours I realized quickly that one could easily make a serious income from the couch in pajamas. It doesn't mean I have it all figured out. It doesn't mean I have the magic bullet or that I'm going to make tons of money. It's just that now I can easily see that it is possible for the properly motivated individuals. I haven't made a penny yet. Haven't spent any either. But I've been researching and playing. Signing up for things and checking out how different locations on the web interface with each other. Looking into popular trends and lead demographics.

Because you see, there IS something I DO know. And that is the following:

The masses are asses. Exploit their stupidity and tendencies. These slack-jawed mouth-breathers will follow any flashy-spinny-shiny thing from Britney to Burger King. From Carrie Underwood to Call of Duty. From NBA to NRA. They want want they are told they want, and buy what they are told they need. Whatever society and media dictate, they will throw themselves into debt just to achieve that particular standard. The herd moves as desired in response to the electrical stimulus of the cattle-prod. Which is why there are several magic glowing screens in every home, and now, almost everywhere you go. Someone needs to tell you what you need to buy, and what is cool. Because heaven forbid, you decide that for yourself.

So the trick is to quit being one of the cattle. Become the farmer. Become the one that controls the prod. Make the herd move where you want them to move. In whatever way benefits the bank account.

Maybe I have a huge supply of Widget X that I need to get rid of. Unfortunately, nobody wants Widget X right now. What to do??? Well, in one of multiple possibilities we could maybe......spread the message, somehow, through popular internet mediums that if you are involved in Niche XYZ you might want to check your Widget Y because this problem is popping up and it also doesn't perform Function Q, which you HAVE to have, Widget X seems to be a plug & play replacement, and performs the totally unnecessary yet highly coveted Function Q in 8G LTE Streaming High Speed Broadband Satellite Mach 24.7! And it will get you free Xbox live cards and totally hook you up with horny moms near you. You should probably switch before your Widget Y goes bad....

Which would link to our pre-made social media pages that spout the praises of Widget X and lend credence to our crappy product with the tons of likes and followers we have....

My point is......I wouldn't automatically discount claims of earnings like the op has posted. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, I don't know. (Although I'm leaning toward DID). But I do KNOW it's possible. Just by logic and reasoning. And it doesn't matter how much money I have in my pocket. If I have $2000 and I lose $5......I'm pissed. You know, that's generally why people with money, have money. Because they know how to hold on to it. Which of course is quite the opposite attitude we're looking for in those we hope to "fill a need" for.

This last year on Black Friday, I watched as the masses did what the herd always does when they move the salt lick, and I started thinking..... I watched as jackasses on the news interviewed even bigger idiots in front of giant blinky shiny stores. I realized that people in this country would sooner sleep on a sidewalk for two days, pissing and shitting in an adult diaper, just for the chance to buy a giant glowing screen at discount prices. It's sad. So I got up off my couch late at night and drove downtown with hot coffee. Went to all the stores and sold to people out front.

Came back 30 minutes later and offered to hold their place in line at $1 per minute while they ran to the restroom. You always gotta be a couple of steps ahead.
