HDD Failure

So I have a toshiba satellite l775 and I did a windows 7 system repair disc to see if I could fix my problem. Startup repair said a disk failure is preventing windows from starting, so my question is what disc should I buy to replace the faulty one? I know nothing about this so I don't know if there's certain things to look for or avoid.

Buy a western Digital drive, they're HQ and I personally use four.
Best case scenario go for an SSD. It's fast, helps your batterie life and overall safer (Personally)
western Digital HDD (For storage)
SSD (Fast boot)

I would combine both and SSD and a HDD.
SSD don't have allot of storage space but they are really fast, if you put your operating system on this it will boot in less then 10 seconds (9,76sec was my last boot time) and then i would just use and HDD for normal storage and such!
Just try unplugging and plugging your hdd back in. Is this a laptop?

But you could also have a bigger SSD, or an SSD and an external drive.

I always thought: "SSDs are useless. Only your PC boots a bit faster and the overall system performance is a bit faster". Then I bought one and realized that it's a "MUST HAVE"!!!! I get boot times of less than 7 seconds, ....
It's the best thing to buy if you don't have it yet :)

if you cannot boot up at all, then probably. You might've ed your laptop up against something too hard and the hdd mightve came slightly unplugged.
If you're wanting to dish out some serious dough, get an Intel/HyperX SSD. If you're wanting a more practical solution to your dilemma, go for a Western Digital HDD.
Am getting the western digital hdd. This is just temporary, have plans for custom pc in future. Thanks to all who provided suggestions I apppreciate it a lot!
