It's been in the works a long time, but we're finally ready to release the latest version of Omnicoin! All Omnicoin clients must be updated before Block 150,000 is mined. (Approximately 2 weeks from now.) We're building the binaries for Windows and OS X as we speak, and I'll include them in this post as soon as they're available. Probably within a day or two. Anyone who compiled it on Linux will have to recompile from the updated source. Get pumped, get psyched, because progress is happening!
Changelog- Support for QR Codes
- UPnP support
- Static Windows Binary
- New difficulty targeting algorithm to help combat difficulty spikes from burst mining. Dark Gravity Wave

OS X and Windows Binaries are both available from this link

Still here sometimes.
Will you also update the github for people who compile it for linux system?

The update has been pushed to GitHub, so you can now recompile.

We've been using Github for our entire workflow, so it'll always be up to date and ready :) Also, there's a static tarball of the source generated at each release under the Github releases page.

Ok thank you for the update, I hope it will raise more users for that coin :-)
EDIT: I got an error when I tried to compile it:
src/qt/qrcodedialog.cpp:14:22: fatal error: qrencode.h: No such file or directory
#include <qrencode.h>
^
compilation terminated.
Makefile:2372: recipe for target 'build/qrcodedialog.o' failed
make: * [build/qrcodedialog.o] Error 1
Do you have an idea where's the problem?
EDIT 2: apparently build/qrcodedialog.o is missing
Cool mind telling us what the new difficulty targeting algorithm will be? I'd like to read up on it.

I assume you are building on windows?
The build procedure is pretty complicated, we will be providing be compiled binaries for Windows and OSX.
No I've tried to build it on ubuntu I have a multiboot w7/ubuntu and I use my wallet on both OS. I had no problem with previous version.

Nothing was really changed build wise, so it should work the same way. I'll do some research and see if I can figure out anything.

Well actually yes. We enabled QR by default, which adds a new dependency.
So crazy, 150.000 blocks :o
Very good job, what's the diffuculty actually ?

I tried to compile without QR just by switching:
USE_QRCODE=1 to USE_QRCODE=0 in the omnicoin-qt.pro but that just change my problem with another one ...
I've never had a problem with previous versions of omnicoin or with bitcoin-qt, novacoin-qt, etc ...
Just for the record the omnicoind daemon compile and work perfectly fine
Please release Wallet for Mac also, Thank you.
Nice, hopefully I remember to check back to this thread for when its updated with DL link. 🤝
