MaterialSkin - Material Design Theme [Light & Dark][Animated]

The theme looks fantastic, great work!

I'm having trouble getting this going too. I have the reference for the DLL added, have the controls in the toolbox and my form is inheriting MaterialForm.

The designer view shows the themed form correctly, and the build appears to be successful. However when running the application I get "Could not load file or assembly 'MaterialSkin'" The paths are correct, the file exists etc. Are there any dependencies I may be missing?

Thanks,

G

I'm having the same issue.
Nothing wrong with the path, it's kind of strange.
That's fucking beautiful, I'm using this in my next project.

Same issue here, i don't know what to do.
Hi, very beautiful !!

Why when I want create a new EventHandler (TextChanged) for MaterialSingleLineTextField, nothing happens ??
This theme also doesn't work for me :(
But theme looks awesome!
Someone should probably do a video "tutorial" on how they set it up :)
@ Everyone having issues try cloning the repo directly from the Git and add it to your project. It works perfectly fine for me.
Probably coding some useless shit.
Thanks again everyone for the nice comments. :)

Proper open source, well structured code and not using the standard ThemeBase (thank god). How is the performance impact of the theme? A lot of the themes i've seen heavily impact performance.

Hopefully I'll be able to use this in a planned future project of mine, provided you keep updating it and adding to it.
Thanks ubbelol. The performance is decent for me, the animations are flawless and it barely takes up any CPU.
The problem about most themes here is that they're coded very inefficient, people initialize every object they need in their paint method. It might look not like a big problem, but it really is when the paint method is called a lot.
In MaterialSkin every paint related object like Brushes are created only once on startup. (except the ones that have to be created dynamically according to the animation progress of course)

I'd love to see it being used in a project. :) I'll keep contributing and everyone is welcome to do the same. But considering this is just a side project for me, I cannot guarantee it will be complete soon.

Hmm weird, try this: clean your project, remove the reference to MaterialSkin, and add the NuGet package instead.

Oh, didn't think of this yet. I never used the skin itself in a real project where I could encounter those problems.

The problem is that MaterialSingleLineTextField is just a holder for a base textbox, but of the type of Control. It draws the onfocus animation. To catch the events from the TextBox itself you would have to subscribe to the events of the base TextBox in it.

I'll put up an issue on GitHub for this.

For the problem, refer to the solution I posted above here.

And a video tutorial would always be nice. I wanted to make one myself but didn't find the time to do so.

Adding it via NuGet worked perfectly! Thanks for this, it's fucking awesome!
Posting here because this is one of the best themes I've seen so far.
Well done, it looks very nice, i think ill use it in some of my projects :)
Best theme ever right here, would give my left arm to get some more themes from "Blink"

For the people having trouble using the theme: www . youtube. com / watch?v=S9dRKhgjvKU

Hey, i made a more simple tutorial for installing the skin to your application..

Code
How to install the MaterialSkin
------

Step One

#Make a new project

Step Two

#Navigate to TOOLS > NuGet Package Manager > Package Manager Console

Step Three

#Type the following and press enter: Install-Package MaterialSkin

Step Four

#Go to the Form1.Designer.vb and replace Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form with public partial class Form1 : MaterialForm

Step Five

#Go to your toolbox, right click and press "Add Tab" then right-click on the tab you made and click Choose items

#And navigate to the "MaterialSkinV0-1-0.dll"

#Add the ".dll" file, now you should have the controls, and a working theme.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments so far!
I've updated the post with the links to the NuGet package. This is much easier to add and provides you easy access to the latest version!

I'm glad it's working now and you're enjoying it :)

Haha, that's one big compliment!
Thanks for the extra tutorial, I hope it helps if people are still experiencing problems on how to implement MaterialSkin.

Blink you really need to make a tutorial for this, It seems extremly hard to get it working properly.
