The way MyBB works with groups really shouldn't matter I'd say. It's basically like adding a member to your Ignore list. Because that already exists, it should be a little easier to implement this. I want to see what Omniscient has to say about this. To see if it would be fairly easy or if it would be difficult. Idk anything about coding but if somebody goes to click Join Request on a group it'll just check for their UID on a blacklist.txt or something and then if it's false they can go ahead and if it's true than they'd just be sent to a page that says they don't have permission like when you click on a thread that has already been junked or moved to a private forum.

It would also effect the leaders. You have no idea how useful this could be.

If groups had the option to disable the apply through UserCP option that would be a great addition also. 99% of all members who apply to groups only through that way aren't added to the group anyways.

I think an easier solution would be to just have the ability to disable joining groups via UserCP if something like this would be hard to implement.

I can see this being a useful tool but I would say that it should only be available to the group owner and not the other leaders.

Titans personally gets around 5+ join requests almost everyday. And if the group changes hands then the new owner can remove all the blacklists like he can the members.

I was just thinking this, although it seems like a pretty good suggestion and many group leaders are supporting the idea. This would be nice if it was implemented!

Within MyBB, if you disable the ability to apply via User CP then users aren't able to leave the group either. IMO it's stupid how it comes in a package deal. That means more work for the leader if someone wants to leave.
