We lost OMC due to Alex not putting in place good backend security, I'd just like to hear out his input on this since he's the reason people lost dozens of thousands of OMC when they were worth much. You out of all people should know that much. Guy goes to jail for a while then comes back and people act as if nothing happened with OMC-Wallet at all. I didn't lose quite the amount but I do know people who did and that affected them when it happened.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
Lol, I thought Alex was back for a sec when I saw this thread.

Hey, fuckwit, next time check my actual post saying that I was ing this back up since Alex has some explaining to do.

No idea. That's just an assumption I'm making. But he has some explaining to do.

I've seen him post on a thread in the last two days, I just assumed.

I see. Well, there were two other wallets that got hacked. On one of them the user simply walked away, and the other time the user disappeared.
The site was hacked because Alex didn't have enough understanding of how cryptocurrencies and their wallets work. I don't think there is a whole lot of explaining they can do.

Ignorance, not laziness. Please don't be rude, I provided a free service where I paid for the domains, the hosting and put a hell of a lot of time into the project. Users were not forced to use it and did so at their own risk.

I didn't have a say in the matter. I had a pretty good understanding of how they work, I just overlooked something.
Quote:t had to do with shared wallets and the ability to export private keys. Your wallet would send the OMC which is the oldest, by default. That means that people who let their OMC sit for awhile then exported their private key could contiously deposit into your online wallet and then send OMC from there as well as the OMC client using the private key they exported. They could then use that method to empty out the entire hot wallet of any online wallet that used shared wallets. And yes, there was 2 or 3 others that had the same thing happen to them as yours did.
inb4 people say they told me about this; They didn't.
EDIT: compared to "According to AllCrypt 2.5 million OMC were stolen from their wallets via an exploit in the network." this is a drop in the bucket. I guess OMC has had its highs and lows.
Great wallet but because of the attacks / past things that have happened with other crypto currencies I will stick to the offline wallet.
My 2 cents are that this all happened due to human error. It is possible to overlook something, and had Abraham Lincoln not told me, I would probably have made the same mistake at some point. It's just a shame that nobody found and reported it instead.

Yes.
I'm working on a website that involves the bitcoin daemon at the moment, so if anyone has any more more "exploits" they know of please let me know.

Hurr I provided a free service. Don't feed me that kind of bullshit please, I'm not stupid as you took a small fee on each and every amount of OMC being sent. Nobody truly does anything out of goodwill.
You did your best? Lol. Let me put it another way: You ditched us when we needed you the most. I understand you were on bail but you didn't do jack shit once you were back.
You didn't have a say? Mate, if you had developed your wallet in a better way and didn't half-ass it, the 190k OMC theft wouldn't have happened if I recall well.
Please, no more bullshit. We both know the OMC values were much, MUCH higher a year ago. If you had looked into potential exploits (ONES THAT HAPPENED WITH OTHER WALLETS ONCE YOU WERE STILL HERE), we wouldn't have lost all those OMCs to thieves. You didn't even try to make it up for the people who lost their OMCs. I guess they can go fuck themselves for using an online wallet proclaimed as the most popular and friendly one back then with "secure protocols". The same exploits which were found in xflat's wallet were found in yours, how do you think that they stole OMC overnight? I was able to withdraw around 6k OMC from your wallet once it happened, that being by amounts of 100 per each withdrawal for some reason, it was dryed up in front of your very eyes.
Shit happens. I understand. But when shit happens, people try to face up the consequences this kind of shit had on other people. Hell, traders now don't give a shit because the amount that was stolen back then isn't worth much now. Don't dare compare the AllCrypt theft to what happened in the past, as OMCs were worth so much more.
Hell, the other wallets got hacked way before yours did, that happened with the same exploit and I recall you still being around. That's kind of stupid, that's the exact same kind of shit we warned xflat about and he decided to drop it. Ignorance? Assuredly. Laziness? Maybe. That should teach you to make an online wallet for people to put their OMCs in cold storage (the amount of people who had ZERO experience with actual cryptos with stable value who started dealing with OMC is quite big, they only got into it to get HF-related services). You think that the other owners of wallets didn't have to face the same kind of complaints? They did.
tl;dr don't make wallets that contain hundreds of thousands of OMC if you can't even secure exploits that are in front of you, your ignorance excuse is pure bullshit and even though others might not care, nobody should forget how unreliable you are, not because you ditched us due to bail as nobody gives a shit about the actual owner of the wallet, they care about their funds that got stolen when said exploit could have still been fixed, that's why I'm blaming you
You can keep making shitty excuses covering your lack of knowledge, I'd just like for people to see what happened back then and how unreliable you are

I respect you more than anyone else on this subforum. And with due respect, once the first few online wallets got hacked, the OMC skype chat had immediately started contacting other owners since we had the exploit figured out (Back when Matt, Aceman, Ortek and others were still active), xflat just straight out rejected fixing it (costing him a net $400 btw)

This is complete bullshit... OMC keep slowly increasing in price

I was comparing the actual value of the amount that was stolen from OMC-Wallet back then, when the value was much, MUCH more stable than it is now. Compared to the precedent value OMCs had, you can't compare the two with the fluctuation of rates.
I know OMC prices are increasing, this market isn't new to me at all.
(Feb 19, 2015 02:36 PM)Raoul Duke Wrote: This is complete bullshit... OMC keep slowly increasing in price
He's actually correct. OMC was worth a lot more back then. It decreased a lot, and then started slowly increasing.
