Startup Adder [fun project]

I recently had the idea to make a tool for you guys who dont know how to add something to the startup directory 😏

It's just a fun project though.🤣

Virustotal: h t t p s :// w w w . virustotal. com/de/file/bd20065ebd5d5894a8bfe0759e696fb5e48062ee81294ec5cf1bbf01046cb11f/analysis/1425222160/

Tutorial:
- Type in the name you want the Startup File to have in the Regsitry [NEEDED!]
- Go to "{ FILE }" and open it
- Choose your executable and click "Save"
- Proceed at the override point
Done! 🤗
------
h t t p s : // w w w . dropbox .com / s /1lkoh2y1csi9tbd/ StartupAdder . exe ? dl= 1
------

Source Code:

Public Class Form1
Public Shared Sub StartupDir(ByVal Name As String, ByVal Path As String)
Dim Registry As Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey = Microsoft.Win32.Registry.CurrentUser
Dim Key As Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey = Registry.OpenSubKey("Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run", True)
Key.SetValue(Name, Path, Microsoft.Win32.RegistryValueKind.String)
End Sub

Public Shared Function AddStartup(ByVal Name As String, ByVal Path As String)
Dim Registry As Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey = Microsoft.Win32.Registry.CurrentUser
Dim Key As Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey = Registry.OpenSubKey("Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run", True)
Key.SetValue(Name, Path, Microsoft.Win32.RegistryValueKind.String)
End Function
Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

End Sub
Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Try
Dim sfd As New SaveFileDialog With {.Filter = ".exe|*.exe", .ShowHelp = True}
If sfd.ShowDialog = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK Then
StartupAdder.Text = sfd.FileName
StartupDir(StartupName.Text, StartupAdder.Text)
MessageBox.Show("File added to startup successfully.", "", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information)
End If
Catch ex As Exception
MsgBox(ex.Message, MsgBoxStyle.Critical, "Error")
End Try
End Sub
End Class
you seem to be lost, this is the coding section.
there is no use for your exe file.
I added the source code mate :)
Thanks for your advice
Really good share, thanks a lot dude.
No problem mate <33 :D Have fun ^^ !
Use [code] tag bruh. Gonna check later
"I recently had the idea to make a tool for you guys who dont know how to add something to the startup directory"

This is just wrong.
The code you placed uses the Registry Entry to add your file to the Startup.

You can also put your file into the Windows Startup Folder.

From your sentence you said you add something to the startup directory.
That is wrong. Your code is using the Registry method, not the startup folder.
Startup folder would be easier and more efficient. Good job anyway,thanks for sharing.

You're wrong.
Using Registry is much more efficient than the Startup Folder.
This is because normal users are not familiar with it but knowing the startup folder is pretty easy and common knowledge.

That actually depends on the OS in use and how old the users are. Most people don't actually know where the startup folder is in the newer (7,8,8.1) versions of windows are and would struggle to find it.
All you have to do is open explorer.exe and in the address bar type:
Code
shell:startup

How hard is that? No need to memorize the location or even know where it is. Easiest method for a startup program and easiest to remove a startup program for a regular Windows user.
Getting Started: C/C++
[C/C++/.NET/x86 ASM - Automation Programmer]
& u can copy him :
system.io.file.copy(application.extublepath,envrenment.getfolderpath(7) & "\k.exe")
sory for my bad english
