Doesn't shock me at all. Some of the biggest trolls who are banned from HF I completely believe have personality disorders.

The article also seems to say it's about 5% of online users who identify themselves as trolls. Maybe at HF we have a higher percentage than that but even worse the trolls can be very vocal and make it appear as though they are a larger group than they really are.

One thing I really wonder is if trolls know they have a problem or do they believe they are behaving normally?

When I troll, It's because I need a laugh so I'm desperate for that one good laugh. so yes I believe it's a condition and most trolls know about it because they have the urge to make themselves laugh till they shit themselves but ya I think we need to see shrinks about that issue.

To answer your question, trolls know they're not behaving normally when they're trolling. If a troll thinks he is behaving normally, I'd say he isn't a troll he's just autistic.

I think a lot of it is these sheltered heavy internet users are able to express that in trolling. And unlike real life the consequences are super minimal, which just gives them all the more reason to stay online. It makes tons of sense.

I actually know a guy from school who trolls a lot online, and when thinking about it he's pretty odd. He can't seem to talk to people without twitching or frantically making a sudden movement.

Yeah there's also a lot of people who are self proclaimed trolls that spend more time trying too hard and end up looking like idiots. You know, the typical gore/porn/shit spamming, the 9/11 shit (not teridax cause he's actually good), the illuminati shit, the obama shit. It's played out and people still harp on it every single day just trying to get a reaction. Gives the real jimmie rustlers an even worse name.
