How to stop laptop going into sleep mode when I close the lid?

Hi guys. I am using an HP Envy which I think is great, however, there is a huge problem: When I close the lid, the laptop goes into sleep mode.
I have researched online and only found one option- to change the settings in the battery options to "Do nothing" when the lid is closed. I did this, however, this still doesn't work. My programs cannot run correctly due to this and I need help.

thanks for your help! :)
Go into your Control Panel, and search for Power Options.

:P, just annoys me when they don't read the thread properly and just type the title into google.
Run CMD as an admin.

write: powercfg.exe /hibernate off and press enter.

Close cmd. And for toggle, the otherway around.

When you realise how wrong you are, please come back and apologise and I'm sure we'll be able to help you.
However until then, go read what he fucking suggested and understand what he is saying.
If you've done what he has said, you'll be able to answer his question properly and we can move forward from there.
The fact you've answered the way you did suggests to everyone else on this thread that you haven't checked what he said.

I myself read all threads before posting my suggestion or advice yes you have indicated you configure "Do nothing" when the lid is closed but you have not said if you set both options within Power Options yes its called Power Options not (battery options) as you put it in your thread. You see because you never help or understand how to troubleshot a problem you thing me starting from simple settings is wrong way to do it i have help lots of HF members with there computer issues and i can tell you and all professional PC technicians will tell you to always start from simple settings to troubleshoot Windows OS, so me asking you to do something was my way of making sure you did configure power settings correctly before i can move to my next advice to you after all we are not front of your computer how will we know how you have configured the Power Options settings i will be stupid if i never i ask you to check on settings i know should have solve your problem.
