As for saying we'll be different from older groups I can't say, since I was neither experienced with any of them nor in any of them.

Eliminate buy-ins and have members that deserve to be in the group and yes they will change.

Will groups change? Hmmm...

• Group owners usually like to profit off members in the group such as putting buy-ins to join. Buy-ins lead to LQ members joining.
  
• Group owners themselves want to gain popularity through out the forum they invite a lot of people hoping their group gets well known along with them.
  
• Group owners themselves are not very skilled in anything particular and they are the base of the group. If they arn't a strong base, the group won't be very skilled.
  

If part of those factors change, yes groups can change. But this forum has many teens not specialized in anything, so it is very hard to find an active group of members who have a talent.

Even if they groups don't change...Group members tend to become friends with each other and gain knowledge from each other doing little side projects and making their own little "group" outside of HF. So even if groups don't change, they still have a positive outcome on people.

TLDR; I think groups are slowly changing but some things need improving before groups become one-of-a-kind.

Yeah but that's only 1 of the 4 that have been rebranded. So I mean... we will have to see what happens. Personally, I don't think groups have been that bad lately and I have high hopes for these new groups as well :)

I was never a fan of most HF groups. I found most to be circle jerks so my opinion has stayed the same since I joined this site.

IMO the only groups that have made something out of their names are Red Lions, Titans & Legends. I really do think that Dawn & Enigma are going to bring something new to the table. As for DARK, well, Razor's doing a good job of keeping things secret.

What about Archive, or Void... or even poor ole Divine? I mean there are a lot of groups that do their own thing too, like Void didn't have a lot to do with outside of it's subforum but that wasn't what it was meant for. It was a more civil and "intelligent" SRPP imo. You could have huge debates/discussions without being attacked and people start flaming lol. Or Axiom... they've at least tried at multiple tournaments and have a really nice atmosphere for actual gamers.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the biggest thing to a group for me is the private subforum. And I emphasized private because groups are private. They don't absolutely have to be doing something with/for the community, although I do believe that for like every 4 groups, 1 should be community based. Just so that groups are contributing at least once in awhile to something besides their own subforum.
