It's come to my attention that a lot of HF members are getting their accounts hacked and lots of scams have been originating from this issue, so please take the time to go through this thread and learn how to secure your PC and your account.
Step 1.) Download a Password Manager
I personally use Dashlane, but all the other ones in this thread work just fine. These pieces of software encrypt all of your passwords into a file (Dashlane into the cloud) and prevents you from having your passwords stored in plain-text somewhere on your PC. If you are ratted or allow someone to view your screen over Skype, TeamViewer, or Join.me, they will be able to see your login to websites, and HF might be one of them.

Step 2.) Checking for Malware
To ensure the integrity of your PC, please complete the following actions.
1.) Download Advanced SystemCare 9. Upon opening, select the following from the list and nothing else:
- Spyware Removal
- Security Defense
- Vulnerability Fix
Once the scan is complete, restart your PC. You should now have your OS updated with the most recent security updates and removed possibly spyware lingering on your system.
2.) Download Malwarebytes and run a "Full Scan". Let this complete and remove anything it might have found on your system. After this scan, restart your PC again.
3.) Download Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit. Run the installer and get it all set up, this will protect you from possible exploits on your system from Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.
4.) Download CCleaner and run a cleaner scan to clear your browser history, application logs, etc. (Select everything in the dialogs for cleaning). This will prevent hackers (skids) from downloading your web browser logs, and other files / information possibly containing sensitive data.
5.) Download Zemana AntiLogger. This software will scramble your keys, which protects your system against keyloggers. Keyloggers are used to capture what you are typing and send it to the hacker (skid).
6.) Download the extensions uBlock Origins and Ghostery if you are a Chrome user. If not; I believe Ghostery and uBlock Origins have extensions for other popular browsers as well. Ghostery blocks trackers on websites, and uBlock Origins is a really good adblock.
Step 3.) Use Common Sense
This one is something that's so basic that it's overlooked a lot.
Are you using common sense? When a user from HF who you've had 2 conversations with sends you a "program they made", do you download it and run it? If it really comes down to it, use either a virtual machine or SandBoxie to run the files you are sent before you run them on your actual system. Do not trust anyone, regardless of their reputation, their upgrade, their awards, etc. Always be cautious with everyone, you never know if they're compromised, have gone rogue, etc.
If you still believe you are infected or have any questions, feel free to PM me or post down below and I will assist you.
